I think it's still at Jose's Towing (Yosemite Ave) this morning, but ABC Auto Parts (San Francisco's Largest Salvage Services - ABC Auto Parts) is coming to grab it today. You may be able to talk to them about getting whatever you are looking for. Best of luck!

Figured I’d check this thread, any 4th or 5th gen guys have some low mileage stock suspension they want to get rid of? Love to freshen up my moms 03 that has 170k on the stock stuff.

I seriously have hella pictures of this rig on my phone.
Every time I go to my brother in laws it’s parked next to his place. And with a new mod, if he’s selling the bumper what’s he getting to replace it??

He actually sold it. A couple of guys i knew and jay (owner of the red rig) sold their t4r and lc80s and got jeep tjs. Kinda bummed but whatever haha

It’s not a bad deal new they are $550 plus shipping.
But jeeps are way over rated. Especially for the price you pay.
I went to cow mountain yesterday with a 2017 rubicon fully loaded with every possible add on.
He was pissed that my $3200 rig did everything his 65k Jeep did and he also died a little when we went through some manzanita bushes, we went home after that [emoji23][emoji23]
Hello all, I’m new to Toyota brand all together. I got my first 4Runner last week. 2000 4Runner Limited with e-locker and 4wd Auto. First mod was removing the running boards and cleaning out the throttle body. It’s sitting at 195k miles. Looking for some mods to do and people to meet!

Need Shop Recommendation
Sadly, it looks like my trusty steed needs a new transmission!
My 5 speed manual wont stay in first gear :vader:
I have installed new shift bushings but the old ones were in perfect shape and if anything the new stiff (Marlin Crawler hd) bushings have exacerbated the issue of it popping out of gear.
I am not sure what happened, as of now I am thinking the cause may have been the previous owner having his mechanic change the transmission oil and his mechanic installing GL5 and not GL4 :shrug: ?
I have been looking around for replacement transmissions and have found a few used units from junk yards at reasonable prices (500-700).
I am not sure I want to tackle the replacement job myself and have been searching for a local mechanic (I am in berkeley), to do the replacement and a new clutch/flywheel etc..)
Marling Crawler quoted me an excellent price (450 for labor) but can't do the job for another 10 weeks and Frenso is a little farther than I would like.
Does anyone know a mechanic they would recommend who has experience working on 4runners?
I am hoping to get this done asap, my 4runner is my daily driver and I have a Super Charger that I need to install once I have this transmission problem taken care of

[MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] and I might be game to do this for the low, low price of lunch and beers. We haven't replaced a manual transmission, fly wheel or clutch and it would.make a good video. I'm currently helping fight a wildland fire in Ventura County. This would probably be something we could get to some time in January. I'll talk with Sean and see what he thinks of tackling this project. We would need minimum a full day to do the job and film it. Ideally two days set aside in case we run into something that hangs us up.

Hey Bay Area dudes, I was wondering if someone could direct me to a trusted body shop? I have some peeling clear coat on the top of a rear door. I believe this door was repainted sometime back. I don't really care about it looking perfect I just want to stop the clear coat flaking.

Hi JZiggy -- It's down in Morgan Hill but I had work done a few years back on my 2010 Toyota Highlander after it was rear ended by Advanced Auto Body. I was extremely satisfied with the customer care I received and the work they performed. YMMV...

Welder needed or...
Local Bay Area guys. Does anyone know a good welder (South Bay preferred) that you think would be willing to take a relatively small project but be able to provide the time and care needed for a clean weld...? Looking for an 'artist' someone who takes pride in their work since this will be a very exposed weld on the front bumper. I've phoned around some places but no one seems interested in a small job. I basically want to have some flat bar welded on end to the top of my AoR front bumper to hide the BL gap on each side.

Talk to Kurt Duncan at Kurt's Auto on Blossom Hill in San Jose. Does a lot of custom projects both big and small, is a true craftsman, and straight-up honest.
