No wraps, no belts, low bar, flat shoes. My squat is at parallel at this point.

I haven't, but I might at some point.

I used to like superset front squats with stiff legs,I might go back to that....

I've been struggling for a year now. Everyone that squats has a groove, I've lost mine. It really comes down to I don't trust my knee anymore, so I can't get comfortable, especially with any weight. Like I said, I think I'm hanging it up. 25 years of squatting is enough. It's probably frustration talking, but it's time for a break...

But, I went again today:

Superset
Bench Press w/ Bent over Laterals
205 X 15
225 X 15 (2sets)
255 X 12 reps

Squats 135 X 12 for 3 sets

1 mile run
30 mins of shooting hoops

Home to stretch, ice and eat!!!!

im in the same boat, i used to be able to throw any weight on and just go for it. i won't go over 315 without a spotter anymore. i don't trust my right knee, and the clicking with every rep doesnt help either

well, you have much more experience with squats than i do, but i was having hip pain with regular high bar back squats, i switched to sumo squats, they are easier on the hips and knees, it helped, i went back to high bar back squats after a few months and my form is much better, no more pain.
I'm not sure if I have more experience, but it's really not about pain, it's really just not being comfortable and the fear of pain! lol if that makes sense. Glad you're able to figure out what was wrong and stuck with it.

Ouch!! Get that checked out. Could something as simple as a little tendinitis to cartilage. Hang in there. But don't overdo it. When it comes to your knees, you want to keep them healthy as long as you can, trust me!!!

got it checked out over this past summer..wasnt good. doc said it looks like the kind of arthritis 70 year olds have. he said its pretty worn down inside the joint. I eliminated sports of all kinds, which was incredibly hard for me to do, and i had to tone down legs a ton. he basically said if i don't stop playing sports I'm looking at a knee replacement by or before age 40, if i stop, he said i can make it to 50 before it needs to happen. heres the kicker, I'm still in college.

I had my left knee replaced after 10 operations (replacement was the 11th) and I was only 42. I just turned 45. I know your pain.

ive been down and out for a week and will be out for at least one more. had oral surgery :tape: so i am not allowed to do any physical activity or lift anything heavier than 5lbs.
and the even worst part of....cant eat much of anything. applesauce, yogurt, mashed potatoes is my "diet" lately

man is this the surgery thread or the bodybuilding thread lol..

hope you guys feel better.. :juggle:

last workout before the big meal on thursday...today was all about chest and reps

for starters

flat bench, 4 25's on each side. you do a set till fail, and take a 25 off each side until you're out of 25's. did that one twice

after that, we did body weight till fail, 4 sets, now my arm won't even move

next, cable flies and chest flies on the machine, now i can even type on my keyboard.

solid day, ill probably be doing lots of cardio after this week :)

I am on my third week of DTP training from Kris Getin's which is of 4 week. Its for both making body lean at the same time gaining some mass. I still have to see some noticeable changes in me. Well lets see after i finish 4 week training.

I did squats today for the first time in....

I tried some cirtuiline malate at the suggestion of t4r4life and it already helped my soreness with my other muscles

Yesterday's workout-

15 mins. elliptical
Pull downs, 4 X 15
Tricep Presses, 4 X 15
Barbell Curls, 4 X 15
Bent Over D'bell Rows, 4 X 12-15
Bench Dips 4 X 15
Barbell Curls 4 X 15
1 1/2 mile run
30 mins of hoops

I probably won't hit the gym again until Saturday or Sunday...

Want your guys input:
How do you place out your reps when doing deadlifts? ie. 10-8-6-4-2?
And...What percentage of your max do you place in those sets?
Just curious to see. I'm really working on my deadlifts, form, posture, and thoracic extension (to fix shoulder pain).

I do 2 low-weight warmup sets. A light set of 8 reps and then a heavier set of 5 reps. Then I switch to doubles and work from 40% up to 90%.

i do 4 sets of 5

i am already warmed up, so i go right into working sets
increasing the weight on each set.

Thanks for the input. I've been doing just the bar to stretch and work on form. Then I do:
185x10 warmup
225x8
275x4
315x2

I picked up some supplements from bodybuilding.com-

Anabolic Freak
Amino Freak
Glutamine
Gaspari Super Pump
Iso Pure Protein

I'm going to dust off one of my old workouts and see where I can get.

Plus, with the treadmill at home now, I can get a run (or good walk) in first thing in the morning to wake up the metabolism.

I plan on adding an additional 75 grams of protein a day on top of my four pre-planned meals. I'll also add juicing on top of it all (yay...).

I was on MHP Dark matter for the longest time but switched to a home made post now.

leucine
glutamine
creatine
pretin
karbolyn

shake it all up and chug it. definitely does the trick and buying the stuff in bulk saves $$$ over the big name stuff and NO fillers.

I've been trying something new. Do your warm up, whatever you like. Then load up 75% or so of your max. Get a stopwatch/timer handy and start knocking out 5 good reps on the minute for 10 minutes. It's killer.
