Story of my life lately. Always looking for an excuse to skip a workout - usually a bench workout because I hate bench pressing.

I find it hard these days to enjoy lifting like I used to pre-injury, but I keep going because what else am I going to do?

i find it is easier to go for reps now than for weight, give it a try, its just as fun as long as you leave the ego behind the door.

Amen to that. Since I don't have a spotter, I'm working on 225 on bench trying to increase the amount of reps I can do. Up to a solid 5 almost 6 now. Once I get to 8 solid reps, I will increase the weight.

So, I decided to strip the bar down and start squats all over- relearning how to squat how my body wants me to with the new knee. It's a little demoralizing squatting a bar with no weight, but it's a start. I'll keep it at until I'm comfortable enough and add weight and go from there.

I also did chest and arms today-

Bench Press
Barbell Curls
Incline D'bells
Dumbell Curls
Lateral Raises
Planks

What's everyone else up to...?

Good numbers!

Funny, that's the one leg exercise I can do without a problem. Where's your knee bothering you when you DL?

I am right there with you, though I've been re-learning both squat & deadlift. Been at it for a couple of months now and have gotten up to respectable weights, but nothing to write home about. My ego hurts. :D

Getting ready to do some squats and rack pulls here in a few minutes.

didn't workout for about 4 days, finals week, but couple days before that i did a pretty good leg workout.

trying to squat without wraps to bring up my raw strength, manage to squeeze out 4 reps of 405. and did 8 more sets of higher reps, 4-8 with weights range from 315-385. after some recomp this week and some rest i'll try to get a new PR for 5rm with 455

Arm day for me. They are disproportionately large compared to the muscles on the rest of my body and it's aggravating. If my back was as developed as my bis/tris, I would look huge. It's so much easier to vary arm workouts and I'm thinking that has a lot to do with it.

Ego hurts... I benched 345 X 2 the other day and today, I'm squatting a bar.
That's pretty bad... But I've been here before, and I'll build back up.
Glad to hear you're getting back into it too.

Nice! Do you use a belt, or just wraps? I've never been comfortable with either, so I just raw dog it!!

i have my 7mm inzer and TK knee sleeves, i have wraps but i don't use them unless im hitting weights close to 1-2rm.

They are not comfortable, in fact they are painful as hell. There is no comfort in the sport of weight lifting, after every session i either got blood on my shins from deadlifts or blood around my waist from my belt digging in doing squats. But they really do help bracing and reduce injury.

LOL, I hear ya & feel the same way. I know I will get there again. Sounds like we are benching the same. I put 345x2 a couple of weeks ago. :D It was a nice boost to the ego that day because I felt it wasn't bad for someone hasn't benched in around 7 months. The excitement died off when I did my squat workout a couple of days later... :(

I have an Inzer forever 13mm belt. Talk about pain!

Oh wait, is that 7mm referring to wraps?

Thanks man. Yeah, that's a great exercise to do.

I wish I had their set-up. I'd love to have one of those cambered bars. That would be awesome to squat with.

i actually don't like those, leaves the upper body too loose, prone to injury. they call it the safety bar, i call it the snap city bar. the best part about the regular barbell it that you can do a narrow grip and flex you entire back to brace yourself, can;t do that with a wide grip for safety bar.

All of that's true, if I were squatting heavy. No more heavy squats for old one-knee Will....

Plus, I'm wide grip, bar low and legs wide squatter.
