Good numbers!

Funny, that's the one leg exercise I can do without a problem. Where's your knee bothering you when you DL?

i can feel sharp pain on the back of my knee coming up only, basically from the top of the joint to the bottom, it feels almost like its a tendon type pain

well i went the heaviest i ever have dead lifting today, 285x5. i think 315 is possible but my knee doesn't wanna find out

Keep working at it.

In the past 4 weeks I've been working on increasing my deadlift.
Started out straining to do 315 and was compromising form.
Today, I knocked out 3 solid reps of 315 and did a 4th, but my form wasn't great. Next week I'm gonna do a small increase, maybe just add some 10lb plates. On my way to a 400lb deadlift and I will be happy.

Just an idea, but this program took me from 450 to 515 a couple of years ago. I'm thinking of running it again to get back to 500 post back injury. I remember it being a very difficult workout, though.

Also, I skipped the lat pulldowns because I have no way of doing them in my basement. You could substitute pull ups, I suppose, but I did just fine without them. Like I said, just a suggestion to help you hit your 400lb goal.

Last night's squat workout went very well! didn't really follow my workout, all that well & instead went by how I felt. Not gonna list the other lifts, but for squats I did:
Empty bar X 8
135 X 5
185 X 3
230 X 2
280 X 2
320 X 2
370 X 2
405 X 2

Followed up with some rack pulls & a couple of other things.

I really did not expect to be able to do the last set of squats and was very surprised an how easy it felt. Perhaps I haven't lost as much strength as I thought.

Awesome Thanks for the link. I just emailed the workout to myself to have at the gym. I've been wanting to mix up my routine a bit cause I don't like doing deadlifts on my leg day like I have been doing. I like to do them on back days like the workout has listed. My gym has a lat pulldown so no issue there. Thanks!

Sorry man, I missed this last night...

No swelling? Is it acute pain? I'd say back-off lifts that bother perform some exercises to make sure your knee is strong like the one Eric posted a few posts ago. (Not the Hitler one, one before that one...)

My results may not be typical, but Ed Coan is a legend, so this should help you make some kind of increase. Hope it works as well for you as it did for me!

i get a little swelling under my kneecap, its not acute really, but if i had to pick one location where its the most sever, id say it was inside the joint itself, not like an outside kind of pain

Oooh... Might be time to see an orthopedic Doctor....

Swelling in the knee capsule means something in there is inured/damaged and things inside there take a lot of time to heal, if at all.

What about instability with the swelling?

I've never really had any instability, I've been playing basketball on and off, lacrosse occasionally, and still can jump, plant, and change direction no problem

May just have to rest it for a bit from lifting. Tendons and joints just take longer to recover. Hopefully thats it. I try to avoid the doc at all costs.

Now that I've moved and live 5 minutes away from the gym, I've been running on the hamster wheel (treadmill) daily and using the Nautilus machines.

I was hoping to lose weight, but instead muscle took its place.

Could be worse, I guess.

Filmed last 2 sets of my squat session today. No wraps just knee sleeves, crazy how much weight you loose on the bar when you take the wraps off.
