lifting has been awesome haven't been here a while so bear with my updates haha
Gear wise:
totally destroyed my TK knee sleeves and cheap yellow wrist wraps, knee sleeve ripped while doing couple 80% max set and the wrist wrap velcro fell off as well. so i got these bad boys.
24 inches wide velcro compare to the old 12 inch tiny velcro, also these are not as stretchy so they feel way stronger, been using it for a few weeks now love them.
Duh duh duh!!! Eric finally got with the freaking program and got these. at 90 bucks they are twice the cost of the TK sleeves but man they feel so much more comfortable, also easy to put on, the stitching seems way stronger, altho i think the thermo in TK is better, never the less they get the job done as im training raw, so knee wraps are on hold until meet prep mode.
Also got these sexy looking mofos, the old dowins are fine, but they look like old man sneakers lol also the heel is a bit to steep so i took advantage of the thanksgiving sale and got these and been using them mostly the last couple of month, they fit a bit tight but are deff just as good as the wooden heel Dowins.
Diet talk:
dieting has been hard, mostly because im too lazy to cook or track macros, so i been just eye balling the macros and my eye balls got pretty big, sitting at 282 right now, which is what i was around this time last year, during last year around june i was 255 at my 2013 lowest. but my diet is kinda back on track again, really want to complete this year so i gotta get my weight down so my total lift number looks better.
Training talk:
Squats:My squats has been progressing steady, being lifting for years has its disadvantages, you don't progress as fast, but i been doing okay, last year i was able to maybe put out 2 reps of 405 with wraps on, and this year 405 is working weight, i can rep 4 reps of 405 with just sleeves on, haven't tested my 1RM but im guessing with wraps i can break 500 with ease. but i'm dealing with some muscular imbalances right now so progress is slow. people in the gym tell me i'm strong but it feel weak as shit doing 500 as wrapped 1rm lol powerlifters dysmorphic i guess.
Bench:
my benching was always my weakest lift, last year 1RM was 285 with form as good as a curl bro. this year after some form check 285 is working weight, current 2RM is 315 so i guess 1RM is around 325. my form is totally different now, traps and shoulder pinched, upper back arched, grip slightly wider than shoulder width, feet behind my knees for leg and hip drive, HIP DRIVE, huge help in aid of my benching, braces my whole body and really helps getting outta the whole, just make sure i don't lift my butt off the bench so i don't get flagged at a meet.
Deadlift:
some of you know my back fo FUBAR from my injury last year around sept, and i been shy away from dl ever since, been working my weight back but still pain, switched to sumo last month, huge difference, still need form work and muscle memory, but i repped 2x 405 last week with ease, feel like i can pull way more but wanna take it easy right now, goal is to at least match my squat weight.
target total is 1500 for 2014, 550 DL, 600 squat and 350 bench. target body weight is around 250, really want 225 but that'll take some time and discipline, and that is it my brothers in iron, stay big, stay safe and press on!
