Got this weird problem. I don't seem to get sore the next day after working out any ideas why?

Funny, I was just talking to my co-worker about that.
I don't get sore from working out anything but my legs, really bad. Any other part, rarely. weird right?

You need to change something or several things about your routine. I just started a new program myself. Depending on goals they can range from 4-12 weeks. 4-8 is where my body reacts best.

Same as above. Add weight, add extra sets, faster, slower, rest pause, etc, etc, etc.... I could literally go on for days. State your goals first, set a date, adjust workout accordingly, write down EVERYTHING, followed by true dedication. Its a change in lifestyle.

Ive seen a good amount of weight loss about 10lbs but have gotten really good gains. So I would guess around 13lbs of muscle.

I'm about to go the gym right now.
Today is biceps and back

Its a 1.5 mile run to the gym and 1.5 back.

I think im gonna lower my working sets by 5lbs and add more reps. I will report my results...

I didn't go through the whole thread, but is anyone else into Olympic weightlifting? I discovered the lifts when I first joined a Crossfit gym a few years ago, but my focus has definitely shifted to training the snatch/clean+jerk. I love the technicality of the lifts, but at the end of the day it's just awesome getting a lot of weight overhead.

My current pr's (at a bw of about 275-280, but dropping):

Snatch: 255lbs (260 is really, really close)
Clean+Jerk: 300lbs
Clean: 305lbs
Back Squat: 425lbs
Front Squat: 375-380ish
Deadlift: 505lbs
Bench: 245lbs (not something I work on a lot)

My goals for 2014 are to qualify for Canadian Nationals as a 105kg lifter (need a 260kg total in the snatch/c+j) so I need to drop some weight and would like my lifts around:

Total: 265kg (252 currently)
Snatch: 120kg (116 currently)
Clean+Jerk: 145kg (136 currently)
Back Squat: 210kg (193 currently
Front Squat: 182kg (about 170 currently)

Definitely need to put some work in, especially dropping the weight. I know what I need to do to get down, but dang it, crappy food tastes good.

I tried it a few years ago and found that I was not explosive enough and too uncoordinated for it. Powerlifting fit me a lot better.

I'm envious of you guys right now. My back feels pretty good right now, but now my allergies (I think) are kicking my ass. Trying to get some things sorted medically and hoping to make a comeback someday.

i never do any forearm exercises, i was told they just 'work themselves out' with all of the other exercises. today was probably only the 2nd time ive seen anyone in the gym working on their forearms, do any of you do them?

I do a short forearm workout on shoulder days but other than that not much...unless I workout with my baseball friend who does forearms religiously.

i dont do them either, yes they do get worked out with other major exercises.
i always feel them pumped when i work out.

the only leg press I enjoy is pushing on the gas pedal in my 4runner...

the brake pedal is not as fun.

clutch is for the advanced only...

threads been dead for awhile did everyone stop working out?
I went today and the parking lot was over flowing. people parking on curbs and neighboring businesses. gotta love the new years resolution crowd

in 2014 I gained 20lbs of lean muscle, I started the year off 7-9% BF 140lbs. now around 12-15% 160lbs. my goal of 2015 is gain 10 more pounds to put me at 170lbs and get back at/under 10% BF.

im nearing 6 weeks on my current split....anyone willing to share their full workout split for making 'all kinds of gainz' (hodge twins) :hail:

Yah, I did quit for now. Was diagnosed with a blood disorder earlier this year and haven't been in the weight room since. Not sure if I am clear to lift or not, but plan to bring it up with my hematologist next week. I hope I can because I really do miss it. Probably will have to ease up on the heavy stuff if he gives me the ok. :(

I have lost 10 pounds though.

I just started back up with a modification of a routine that worked wonders for me in and right out of college. I was probably the strongest I had ever been, able to run for days, and I was faster than I had been in highschool(used to run 100, 200, and 400)

I run and bike Mon-Wed-Fri working up to 3mi a day at 7:00/mi(right now it's 1.5 mi at 8:00 but I've been out of the game awhile) then I'll bike for 30 minutes.

Tues-Thurs-and occasionally Sat I lift. I do a full body split: squat-pullups-db incline bench-lunge/stepup-rows-press- break for HIIT -then shrugs-bi's-goodmornings-tri's

for HIIT I'll ramp up to 10-12 sets of 30 on 30 off running on the treadmill at 12.5-13mph at a 3 degree incline. Right now I'm giving myself another week on lifting and the cardio before I add this back in with 4 sets. I'll add a set each week after that unless I'm feeling good.

It always kept me pretty lean but strong and should work well for my lifestyle here in CO. It's been a few years since I really committed to it though so it'll be a rough start.

I didn't really quit I just became less consistent after school started I went from 5 days a week to 1 maybe 2 days.

This lasted a whole Fall semester lost alot of muscle and gained about 18lbs of fat. So shitty, but now im with the whole "new year new me" people and hitting 5 days a week again with running 3miles a day.

We will see how it goes. Good luck to all.:plane::plane::plane:

question. if you are under eating, will you hold extra fat in the spare tire area? not calorie deficit but under eating on carbs. I realized the macros ive been using are for when I was 140lbs and I never adjusted to my new weight of 160lbs. im around 12% BF now and cant seem to shake this extra belly fat and wondering if its due to my under eating.

I just joined a few days ago. I've been in and out of gyms for about 7 years. I'm only 23 but my health is horrible and I'm waaay out of shape. It's not only physically stressful, but my mental state is in the toilet and my self esteem ran out of steam. However, this time it's different because this is the first time joining a gym after quitting cigarettes. It's been 3 weeks since I've stopped drinking sodas. You don't realize how much of something you consume until you stop it and I was shocked at how much soda I was chugging.

I really want to follow through with this and I feel pretty damn confident right now. I'm currently at 292.
