After sprayfoam insulation we encapsulated the crawlspace. There were lots of moisture problems there. and we installed a new gas furnace with ESV unit. the house was previously all electric, and electric bills were well out of sight. a new water heater was also installed. I guess the pictures didn't come through.

I built a hearth for the new wood stove. We bought a hearthstone soap stone stove to help heat the place. This morning when I got up it was -7 F

So again a novice here. Wife is wanting a built in or floating desk where we currently have an 8 foot standing table.
First picture is current setup
2nd picture is rough drawing. Now for my own knowledge I have the idea for the cleat along the back wall but would it hurt to go along the corner wall as well? Have 1 x 6 x 6ft pine board for the top and 2 inch pine for a skirt all the way around. Are the support legs necessary as well? All input and almost all criticism appreciated in advance

Going along the corner would be good to provide extra support - I am a bit confused about the top, if its only a 1x6x6' that is only 5.5"wide desk top? More like a shelf then a desk - if my understanding is correct there I def. don't think you will need the support legs are 5.5" is not a lot of leverage. adding 2" pine ribs will help aswell.

Been busy working on the home this fall.


Finished the basement theater.

Finished remodeling the back wall of my upstairs theater.

Put down wood flooring in the living room.

Finished up my outdoor kitchen.

Finally installed my new fridge.

Experimented with wood planks on the wall......something different.

We recently had our back yard redone. We talked about this and that and I said if we are going to do it we will do it right. We found a contractor with great recommendations and got to work. First the patio size was doubled. 1000 square feet of Arizona gold flagstone and the same size of lawn.

I bought a 48" Santa Maria wood grill and had them make a stand for it.

We also bought a new spa. I ran a 20A GFCI circuit which the spa called for.

It was a little costly but every day we enjoy it and every night I sit in the spa and relax. It was so worth it.

Nice back yard. WE use the tub more in the morning than any other time. Seemed odd at first thought. But having a cup of coffee in the tub in the morning to start the day is really nice.

We've done a lot of projects, like adding crown molding to several rooms, but this is by far the biggest job we've ever taken on. Turned out to be one of those that is waaaay more involved than you're thinking when you start.

I put together this collage to tell the story. What you see in the 4Runner is the result of almost 4 hours at Lowe's. It's every piece of material we used and some new tools too like a 10" miter saw. Unseen in the pic are the 15 4'x4' beadboard panels that are stacked in the cargo area under the stuff that's sticking out. Glad to have this finished and it proved the old saying once again: "Caulk and paint make you the carpenter you ain't!" :-D

I am now officially wired!

I may paint the backboard later, but my wife just wanted me to get it up there.
6 cat6 drops: 2 in the master bedroom, 1 in the office, and 3 in the game room.

The Synology NAS, patch panel, and Gigabit switch were all free because they were used. My clients were going to throw them away, so I took them off their hands.
Both hard drives failed on the NAS, but I have HDDs galore lying around. The last 4 ports on the switch don't work. The patch panel was being thrown out after an office remodel.

I have a smaller one on the desk out of view below. I'm not too concerned about it, really. All free equipment, and I still have the surge protector inline. It all boots back up quickly anyways, so a brownout won't really matter.
I have a larger UPS for my PC in the other room.

Sorry boss. Now that I’m no longer a 4Runner owner and just a lowly Tundra guy, I rarely find myself on this page. I’ll have to go back and see if I have a pic of the final product.
The shower head combo is a Pulse brand. I don’t think what model. I like it a lot, though being a rainfall type head, pressure isn’t too high.
I’ve actually just sold this house so I’m the next several months I’ll have a bunch more to add as I’ll be starting over on a new house with new projects.

That seemed short lived with the 4Runner. Either way your listing for your house looks amazing. On 5 acres none the less. I would move there in an instant!!!!

I just upgraded my HVAC system. I didn't do it myself but went with Costco thru Lennox to replace the 24 year old before it died.

Lennox Variable 3 ton 20 Seer AC and 2 stage gas heater. 5" carbon filter and UV light to keep the air clean.

The old condenser was loud and small.

The replacement is four times larger and is whisper quiet.

The inside unit is much taller with the additional equipment. The guys sealed everything up including climbing under the box under the heater to insulate and seal it up.

It also has a tablet to replace the thermostat that works in the house and remotely thru our smartphones.

It is amazing how quiet the new system is inside and out while outperfoming the old one.

Did you cross shop or get quotes from anyone else? Were there different SEER options for the Lennox system? I'm kind of in the same boat. Existing HVAC still works but it's the original unit that came with my house - made in 1989. SEER rating? They didn't care back in those days.
