Official New owner of a 2014 TE

Hey guys,

Finally, after weeks in the planning, I finally have my new 2014 TE!! I got delivery on Wednesday and Sunday I went up to Sam Houston National Forest, just to get it dusty :lol:

Previous car was a Nissan 370z and this is my first 4x4, so I have lots to learn, but I've been reading through a bunch of threads and have already compiled quite a long wish list of things and places I need/have/want to do.

Anyways, hope I can get my 4r looking as good as some of the ones here

I'm liking the 4R ALOT! The z was as practical as an inflatable hammer, and it's overheating issues were less than desirable, but I took it to the track and did autoX with it and overall had a blast with it.

Please don’t bash the 370Z. It’s a 4runner brother from another mother for more than one member on this board…purpose built, RWD (based for 4R), and not for the masses. My 370Z plays very nicely with my two 4Runners. The Z is no family car, but it’s way more practical than just about any other two-seater. It’s extremely reliable, has a surprising amount of cargo space, and maintenance is as inexpensive as your average middle of the road family sedan.

BTW, congrats on the new ride...excellent choice!

No bashing here, I loved the Z it's an excellent car. I test drove every comparable car to the Z before I bought it and none came close to it.

and for maintenance, well I can't comment, I went through two sets of tires, and 3 sets of brake pads in the first 25k miles of owning it, and it was money well spent haha

I can’t watch the previously posted youtube video at work, but I can guess that it’s about oil temps. Most cars do not even have oil temp gauges, so this happens in many cars that are tracked/pushed to their limit for extended periods of time in the non-premium sports car realm. M-series and S-line cars have their issues as well. The term overheat is not necessarily accurate. In some cases, the car can go into limp mode after doing multiple track laps, which prevents the engine from revving to the redline. Regardless, for those who want to flog their cars, an oil cooler (which is now standard) solves this issue. Also, the FRS will get smoked by just about anything with sporting intentions in a straight line and the Caymen S only recently became significantly faster. Don’t forget that the Z has remained basically unchanged since ’09. I’m done now. This isn’t what this forum is about.

Back to subject, I just ordered the Shrockwork sliders and weather tech liners :D

I know there's a sale's section on the forum, but if anyone is interested, I'll be putting the oem running boards for sale after I get the SW sliders installed.

Updates on your rig? You miss the Z or no?

Im missing my Z, and they are running 0% for 60months at nissan right now
im on edge someone help me

That one got totaled a month later, But I got myself another one and here how it sits right now.
The Z I do miss it every time I drive on the hill country, but on a regular basis I don't, the 4runner is not as fast but it can go alot more places [emoji1591]
