Awesome, that could be a lot of fun.

The LH mall is no longer an option as they've recently changed owners and begun construction on renovating the site. The other meets that were held there on Thursdays moved up to Lake Forest Dr in the Best Buy parking lot.

Frankly, since we can all go on wheeling and camping runs whenever (that's why we have these vehicles), my idea was more like our very own car show, except with wheeling rigs and not shiny chrome 50's American classics. This time around, I'd like to get more of a tailgate party feel going (without going crazy). The more secluded lots (such as Irvine Meadows) have tons of space for a responsible T4R group.


My apologies if this sounds mean, but the meet I had in mind really only was meant for somewhat local (LA, OC, IE, and SD) folks. SoCals a big place! Any further and I can get why you might be bothered. The first time I did these meets, another member started a shit-show because he didn't want to drive, either. Of course there's always going to be a few people who aren't happy. Maybe a better name would be "Greater OC area meet." You're in Ventura so that's a hell of a drive, even I wouldn't make that drive just for a meet (traffic or not). There's other, closer, more appropriate meets/runs you can go on during the weekends you may find more suitable than this one.

I don't mean to seclude, but you just can't make everyone happy. I can't attend weekend meets due to my work schedule, so I've been secluded enough myself, enough to plan my own weekday meet. If the day doesn't work for you, well, honestly, just go to another meet. This one just might not be for you. There's still going to be plenty of people who want to come, as evidenced by past meets.



So far, we've had parking lot meet 'n greets at these locations:

Round Table Pizza, Fullerton
The Hat, Brea
In N Out Burger, Laguna Hills (Last 8 times were here)


Proposed locations (need lots of adjacent parking for group pics):
Irvine Meadows Amphitheater, Irvine (You still got the hookup, Rhett?) [MENTION=109283]9494runner[/MENTION]
Best Buy, Lake Forest off of Lake Forest Dr.
Cook's Corner near Trabuco Canyon (although it's likely busy at this time)

The only issue with vzn wireless is last concert is done, so it's locked and gate now. THey are going to demo the place. I think cooks corner may be alright OR we can hit a brewery. Support the local craft. I am pretty sure andrew at brewhouse in sjc wouldn't get riled up if we're respectful. I can ask. Only think is places that serve alcohol do not want to be responsible is something went down, and by no means do I want T4R.org to get a boozy rap. BUT I am ALWAYS down for a pint and 4lo. :flamethrwoer2:
 
Can do a sat or sunday meetup at the OHV park of ortega, opposite to the back entrance to saddleback truck road, by blue Jay campground. It's a trip through past el coriso on ortega. There is ortega falls if there are any other climbers. Met a climber from elsinore with a wHite TRD pro about 3 months ago there

The place where they have Cars & Coffee (26701 Aliso Creek Rd, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656) on Saturdays can hold plenty of rigs, but then again not many people want to or can wake up early to get there at 7AM before businesses start opening lol. :hiding:
 
Having gone to all of COB's meet and greets at the In-N-Out in the LH mall parking lot I think keeping it close to there like the Best Buy in LH makes the most sense. We always had a good turn out and a good time.:cheers:

V down with a brewery meetup and have never been to SJC brewhouse. kind of a drive from HB on a friday tho... i am feeling ventura FJ guy's anguish.
 
I've got a small engine but I would be down to where ever you guys plan to have the meet up. I'm located in Anaheim so I might be in the middle of these places lol

Sounds as if this is going to be an OC-centric gathering.

Maybe we can work on one in North LA/SFV for those of us who can't make it down to OC on a Friday night.

This is all new to me, but I know at some of the local parks I always see guys doing meet ups with other vehicles and all. What if we did it at a park, can BBQ, check out rigs, and meet everyone? I also know a few craft breweries in the Santa Ana/Costa Mesa area that maybe be interested in allowing us to use their lot too, I can ask.

Maybe we can do a meet in Simi Valley or Thousand Oaks so it is between north LA and the Santa Barbara and Ventura members.

oh man, so many sparks-fuelled nights racing fixed through the streets of LA, LBC, OC... back when all i ate was fast food and have'a chips. so many good memories of nights i have no memory of.
