If you want to model a dimensionally correct upper control arm for a 3rd gen and a spindle, that would be awesome

I could model a duratrac or something if that makes you happy? I don't want to give away how my LT is made, it's so complicated obviously :bounce: Just wait MTD, now is maintenance time, not design and fabricate time.

Haha, ok sniv I'll be on pins and needles lol if you model a duratrac I'll 3d print it here at work and use it as a paper weight

Yeah it would lol, why don't we just measure my horns when I paint my bumper next week. You should make a spread sheet and we can use the garage computer to track it.

We can use that to scan the front to make a 3d shell, but I dont know how accurate it is.

How about skid plates, I have access to CREO Parametric, but I am not very versed in it, I can however take 3D sheet metal models and punch and bend them out of aluminum or steel. would love to do some skid plates or heavy gauge sheet-metal rock sliders

How bout this I just bought an expo trailer and need to make a lid. I want to build a lid for it and I will design you some skids if you can cut and bed up my lid for the cost of materials.

Ive got a license for this and a kinect, maybe ill take some scans later today. also i modeled a skidplate and the stock bumper mounts, although I think ill be cutting the stock mounting plates off for a bit more clearance.

ok so i measured what the outline was for the bumper and sort of designed a proto type, it looks sweet and i really like the square tube bull bar that uses the tubing at a 45 degree angle, the design is inspired by blcktpgsrs modified arb bumper and i stole the square tube idea from another guys custom bumper. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/67705-blcktpgsrs-97-transformation.html

This thread is a great idea, I feel like it should be stickied somewhere. This is a great tool for anyone that wants to design anything possible for the trucks, and could be a cool way to practice CAD skills as well. I'm trying to go to college for engineering and I'm trying to start learning SketchUp now so that I'm not too behind, and to be able to tie the process in with our 'runners is really cool.

hahe yep. I am an engineer student too so i figured that I should find a way to share all the stuff i am creating lol.

Some advice, just skip learning sketchup (it sucks and pertains nothing to industry) and go right ahead and pirate yourself a copy of solidworks, inventor, or creo.
