Uh, not according to All Pro. I sent them an email about it not too long ago and they said it wouldn't fit the Runner.
The frames are not the same.

Well Damn. And I thought I had finally made a decision. Any bumpers out there that look like the AP one and maybe have the same features that fit 3rd gens?

my frame is exactly the same as a tacoma after i chop the frame end caps off, please explain how is it different when i can fit everysingle bumper made for tacoma but not the all pro ones

Of course anything can be fabricated to fit anything else. Nobody suggested otherwise. The issue is that some people are/were under the impression that the AP Tacoma bumper is a bolt on affair for 4Runners when it clearly is not per the manufacturer. No sense in misleading people who haven't performed the inquiry themselves.

okay just looked at the install guide its exaclty same as my 4runner's frame, install process is also the same and i know for a fact first gen tacoma and 3rd gen 4runner got the same frame, so next time research yourself before hand instead of listen to what other people have told you.

taco and 4runner frames are almost exact on the front half. The 4runner has those little crush cans, and once you cut them off your good to go with taco bumpers. Even if a bumper bolts to the stock bumper locations it will work.
The real difference on taco/4runner frames is the back half. The tacoma frame turns into a c-channel frame after the cab, And a 4runner frame stays boxed all the way back

yeah what he said, for 3rd gens once you cut off the frame cap and put a end cap on, it is the same as tacos, thats why taco bumpers work with 4runners. just know that 96-98 have a simpler end cap holding it by one bolt while 99-2002 have a whole piece of metal welded on the end.

Why don't share your infinite knowledge with the manufacturer? Better, yet, they are hiring...I'm sure an expert such as yourself would be a shoe in. In any event, the bumper still requires extra fab work and isn't a direct bolt on.

there are no direct bolt on bumpers all bumper require work to be able to fit, manufacture just say it doesn't fit for liability reasons, and trust me you dont wanna work for all pro.

My 97 had welded on crush cans. an angle grinder or sawzall takes care of them real fast. All bumper will require some prep. Thats true. Thats why places like all pro make a killing. THey will happily install you bumper for a few hundred bucks.
If you see a bumper you like for a tacoma its almost a for sure fit. Following the normal instructions. If my tacoma arb fits, A tacoma trail gear bumper fits, 4xinnovations, ect all have taco bumpers that work on 4runners

Has anyone on here made a write up for the fab that needs to be done. Sounds simple enough but I plan on taking my bumper to a metal shop so it would be easier if I can show them the process.

its very easy all you need is a angle grinder, cut the frame end cap off so its square, and weld on a plate with a nut in the middle and cap the frame off

Mine has a bar across the front so would that have to be removed too?
