OH YEAH! They Fit, No Lift. 275/55/20 Heavy Pics!

Rolled the dice on some new tires and wheels, Hankook RF10 275/55/20 on 20x9 Matte Black V-Tec's to replace my OEM 20's. Had to get new tires do to multiple side wall plugged tires. :redbrick: Quickly realized my options sucked and stepped up.

Went with all the positive reviews on the Hankook's, got 300ish miles on them and they are much quieter than I expected, more noisy than the Yokohamas as expected. But very, very, very, good. Hopefully, the same when I start hitting higher mileage on them.

The V-Tec's are not top of the line, but am very pleased so far with the finish. They mounted perfectly with 5.75" BS & 18 Offset, no RUB in full lock.

Only issue is my TPMS is on, does Toyota need to recode this for me?

Thanks, I was nervous about fit. I think it heavily comes down to the right b/s to avoid full lock rub.

They are "A" rated on tire, solid.

Looks good. Be aware of those sections of asphalt heavily worn from Tractor Trailers, the larger wider profile will make the vehicle 'wander' in those grooves. (Based on experience with several vehicles!)

OEM Limited wheels are 4.5, mine are edit correction, had 5.5, actually 5.75.

Wanted to wait to respond on this. I put another 150 (450ish total) since this thread, mostly highway. Have not noticed to much wander. But I do not doubt you, I bet back roads will be the best test of wandering. So far so good for me, hope it stays this way. Thanks for heads up.

2" difference in dia and 1" in BS means the offset is the same (wheel in same place in wheelwell)? So these tires would fit a stock wheel and not rub as well? thought the tire is spec'd for a 9" wide wheel and the tire would be pulled in at the bead more than ideal.

is this right? would love to get a set of these instead of popping for the Yoko's. Cant afford a new rim right now.

They do not rub! Look at my third pic. I took the pic with the camera facing from ground up. I did this because the light coming through the clearance was better demonstrated from this view in full lock. Not a ton of room, but enough for me, especially as they wear.
My other concern was the rocker arm, absolute non issue there.

They told me on the phone they were 5.5, they are actually 5.75 after a bit more research. Here are the actual stats on my wheels pulled off the web:

The cost of Yoko's vs new tires and wheels is not a very large gap. Yoko's are much more expensive than the Hankook's. By the time you buy two sets (now and once more in the future) of the Yoko's you have almost paid for the wheels. I decided I would rather on ride on what I like as I will break even later. :thumb3: How's that for rationalizing?!

To your question on fitting these on your OEM's, I can not imagine them fitting safely. But I am no tire/wheel expert...275 is a big tire vs 245.

Go to any reputable tire shop and tell them your truck needs to relearn new tpms. I think it was $20 at Firestone.

They did, but broke one of tpms. They had to buy and replace.

One oem wheels, they shouldn't rub - if they do it will likely be minimal. I have 275/60/20's and they do rub - but only on the front bumper at full steering lock in reverse when turned to the right.

Hankook Dynapro AT's have a very wide footprint for their nominal sizing. Since the rub is at the outer corner, they're more prone to rub than some other tires. My tires are Cooper H/T Plus - which have very rounded corners. So the Hankook or a BFG KO2 or some others might rub worse than mine do. I also have a set of 285/70/17's Toyo AT2's on OEM Trail wheels and they rub about the same amount for reference.

I think for most people the 275/55/20's wouldn't rub at all if you have proper back spacing. 275/60/20's are going to be on a case by case basis. And if I had jumped up to 275/65/17's I would not have needed a BMC, but would have needed significant bumper trimming for sure.

They have to dismount the tires and get the codes off the sensors and program them in I kept my TPMS on my OEM wheels and bought four new ones just in case they broke one of them :doh:

If they haven't done it yet - many or most tire shops have a reader that can get the rfid code without dismounting the tires. It's just a receiver they walk around the car with.
