I'm wanting some super white color though!
I installed some Jumper LED's from TW tonight in my low beams and moved the PIAA's to the fogs. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post it so you can see the difference. For reference, the LED's are 6000K lighting temperature. :thumb3:

How's the light output? I'm a really picky guy. I need BOTH aesthetics and function.

The LED output is very different from halogen. The ones I got were from Chris (Jumper LED's) on TacomaWorld and it turns out are from China. That said, the light is extremely evenly distributed and just as bright if not brighter than my previous halogens.
Here's a cell pic of the low beams on - bear in mind that it really doesn't do it justice.
My only real complaint is the lack of a definitive cutoff, but then again I drove home with them on last night and nobody flashed me.

They definitely aren't as bright as HID's, but they have very good light distribution (especially off to the sides) and when I felt the housings on getting home (1 1/2 hr trip), they were ambient temperature (no heat from the bulbs).
All that written, I'm investing in some Lifetime LED's (American made), for low and high beams and I'll be moving the Chinese ones to the fog lights.

For reference, 4th gen high beams are 9005, lows and fogs are 9006.

The more I look at your rig... I get this... almost retro feel from it. The cladding on black look with that red and white TRD decal looks great. I like it more and more each time I see it.
Received a set of Lifetime LED High and Low beams recently. Threw em in and moved the Jumper LED's to the fogs, though time will tell if I'll keep em there or replace em with the PIAA halogens for the color difference.

Pics were taken with an iPhone4 and the lights were so bright that it gave the camera an aneurysm, so bear in mind that the light in the first picture for each is much brighter than it appears. The light pattern is much different to halogens too, with the light being evenly distributed versus having hot spots - creating a much "smoother" looking beam in the process.
Cost for the high and low beams together with the discount code at wiredinstallation.com was $291.98 including shipping. They arrived within 3 days of being shipped and when one of the drivers' plugs was odd Henry (kd8bao on TW) had a new one shipped within the hour of being notified (shipped on a Friday, arrived on the Monday).
All in all, worth every penny, though we'll see how they hold up.

These puppies will heat, massage (without heat) or massage with heat and run off the regular 12V outlets in the truck. They have the added benefit of making the seats considerably more comfortable too. :roll:

Replaced a bent trailing arm from 2 weekends ago today. The mechanic charged me $235 for the part, wanted to charge an additional $250 for labor if he did it. Took me half an hour to do myself with an improvised breaker bar, a 19mm socket and a tiedown strap.

yeah, for the price you paid + a bit more wouldve got you a set of metaltech ones. much beefier than stock!
I only needed to replace one, plus I got my sliders installed and painted yesterday so $200<$400 is relevant lol
So I've been neglecting this thread for a while. Here's what's happened since my last post:
Got a set of 4xInnovations sliders (weld on) for ~$277 shipped. Had em attached and bed liner'd at Fieldston Automotive in the Bronx for another $225.
Took a trip to Rausch Creek for the CMCC event. The stock skids and my sliders took a bit of a beating, but she managed to make it through a few purples and a couple of red trails without needing help. To make matters better I managed to buy a set of MetalTech lower control arms (rear) from the guy who won em at the raffle for $200.
Also got front and gas tank skids from RCI Metalworks, coated them with Rustoleum rust preventer can spray. Here's a pic of my stock skids when I pulled em off:
Since winter is coming, put in some HIR2 headlight bulbs, went with the Phillips 9011 and 9012 bulbs for a total cost of ~$80 (all 4 high and low bulbs). They have a slightly whiter colour compared to regular halogens, but are about 4x brighter.
Also installed an antenna mount on the drivers' side hood. Planning on running the wires through the center console.
And lastly, installed 3M ceramic brake pads and matching rotors front and rear. So far ceramic brakes > the old brakes by a significant margin.

I can't speak for the stock suspension as mine had 130k on it when I upgraded it, however it rides well on the highway and is mildly more violent when rock crawling than I would expect the stock suspension to be. I would do OME again. Bear in mind though, I only have ome coils in the front, the rear is toytec, gets better flex when not carrying a heavy load.
Gave her some TLC today.
Re-plastidipped the wheels and added a couple of coats of gloss to boot, dropped the spare wheel to clean it up/reinflate it, plus detailed the interior and exterior.
Also have a basket-style BajaRack showing up this coming week, so next week's job will be to attach that. It'll make the car roughly 6.62' tall, so hopefully it won't cause problems with parking garages!

A few days late but I finally installed my Spec-D headlight assys with Kenson HID H1 bulbs, as well as my Pioneer 3600 head unit with SiriusXM. Cutoff is pretty good with the projectors though the light pattern itself leaves a little to be desired and they did require some adjusting before they were road legal. The head unit has been great, phone connection via Bluetooth has been flawless so far.
It's been a while since this was updated. So far:

- AntiDark under-hood lighting installed. Brad at [email protected] was very helpful and rapid in replacing the unit when half the LED strip was dead on arrival.
- Mounts added to the roof rack for the Hi-Lift
- SS extended rear brake lines.
- CBI CB and HAM Radio Antenna mounts
- Re-dipping wheels
Yet to come:
- Reinforcement of trailing arm mounts (on the frame)
- Replacement of all suspension bushings
- SS front brake lines.
