Thanks for the links sandcrawler...i looked thru them, and they are very interesting reads. It is what it is. And if that is the price to pay for having a solidly built, reliable, and rugged vehicle, then so be it. My old Land Rover was an easy oil change...and was a complete pain in the arse for much of my ownership, as far as reliability is concerned.
After doing the math, i purchased the Tonka during the 1st week of December 2014, by the time it needs an oil change it will be Mid-to-end of May, that's a kool 6 months. With my wife and i already owning her car, my pick-up, and my Kawi Concours, the Runner wont pick up any MORE miles in the coming 6 months.
So basically, who wouldn't love to be able to partake in only TWO oil changes a yr for a primary vehicle? I will change the oil in my bike at least 4 times between April and Oct alone.
So I'll take that for sure...skid plates and all
