Oil Change Price at Toyota Dealership

I usually get my oil change at the dealership averaging between $35.00 to $39.00;.but today I went in to get my oil change and...... I was charged $51.00 for just an oil change with no tire rotation:frisky: $51.00!!!!!
If you go to the Toyota dealership for an oil change, I was wondering what do you normally pay?

Mine has a special for 75.00 I get 3 oil changes w/tire rotation and inspection. The kicker is that you have to use it in 1 years times. I have no issues with that as I put on 5000 miles in less than 2 months. Of course they always try to sell me more while I am in there, but I know what I do and don't need, usually. And if it is something I think might be important, I have them show me.

I pay nothing. I never let anyone change my oil. I run AMSOIL, change it once a year at a cost around $75.

I pay nothing as I get free oil changes for life since I bought mine certified preowned at my dealership.

Rest assured though that they will try to sell me something else or tell me something is wrong every time I go there.

Check the dealership's website for oil change deals, coupons, etc. They might take on a couple bucks more if your engine takes more than the noted quart-limit, but i usually get charged $38 for my V8's oil change.

$10 at the local Nissan dealer, and they use synthetic...takes about 2 hours with an appointment though.

yeah, the coupons always give you 5 quarts but mine takes 7. I always find a coupon or something for oil change plus tire rotation. Usually costs me around $40. Check online or sometimes you get coupons in the mail.

Same here!! Takes me a whole 20min or so.

I also take my runner to the dealership and this last time they charged me $45.00 dollars, with no tire rotation just regular oil. I might just do the oil changes myself in the future. I use to pay about 25 to 30 dollars an oil change about a year an 1/2 ago. Will defenitely check for coupons and competitors promotions next time around.

SECOND THAT! That's what I do! Original toyota filter $5
plus mobil1 full synthetic from walmart for $23 total $28 every 5-6 miles or 6 months whichever comes first!!!

One of the local dealers usually has a special. $9.95 oil change, with New Toyota filter. Just a way to get people in the door so they can sell them other "needed" services

They tried to get me to do the following :

Airfilter $19.95
PCV change $29.95
"4x4" service 149.99
Tune up 199.99


I told them no thanks, just an oil change.

Normal dealer oil change is 29.99, but I get dealer coupons mailed to me for $26.95. Yes, they usually try to sell a cabin filter for $60, when I can go buy it in parts department for like $22 or like some make your own.

I'll tell you right now they are losing money. Autonation (the corporation that runs our Toyota Dealership) is mailing out these $14.95 oil change coupons and its killing us. The tech only gets paid .3 hours to do the work, not to mention he cost of the oil and so on, it is literally hurting business as we end up losing $8 on average per coupon and then the customer does not want anything else.

Our service manager is fighting corporate to at least bump it to $19.95, its gotten bad enough that the dealership is using regular oil rather than synthetic when we can gt away with it. Which I am just waiting for one of the customer's cars to spontaneously fail and then Toyota coming down on us for it, parts department and the service techs are not happy about the whole ordeal as it is.

It also unfortunately brings in customers wit poor attitudes and has made the dealership as a whole noticeably biased against these "14.95's" to the point that I notice some of the quality of service slipping towards these customers.

I take ours to an independent shop. $50 for synthetic oil change including lube (driveshaft), tire rotation and balance, inspection, top off fluids, and test drive. Beats the Toyota dealership since they claim to inspect everything on their list but do not! Also, 30-45 mins instead of half-a-day at Toyota. Hard to beat!

I do it myself, the 2008 with 18" wheels may be the easiest vehicle ever made to change the oil, don't even need to lift it. 5W30 dino oil on sale at Walmart usually Pennzoil, QS, etc usually about $12 and Toyota filter & crush washer at dealer for about $6. Every 7K miles. Even then, the when I see the old oil come out I wonder why I changed it.

No need for designer oils, synthetic, or any other waste of money.

For my vette or Harley, different story, good reason for syn.
