Oil Change Price at Toyota Dealership

$10 for a synthetic oil change with oil filter??? how are they not losing money? i guess they are banking on selling other services too.

Loss leader mentality....get the old ladys in there and up sell them "Summer Air" in their tires for $49.99 and hemulator lube job for $59.99 and "boy your brakes sure do need cleaning" :lmao:

Yea, a buddy of mine is one of the service managers. He said they lose ~$15 on every oil change, but they make it back, on average, on upsell for new wipers, tires, brakes, services, etc.

you think oil prices are bad now at a dealership, the are going up july 1st, not to mention every other liquid that the dealership sells...

only thing not changing is bulk 0w20...

ZERO!! $34 for Mobil 1 5w-30 from Walmart and a Mobil 1 oil filter for $9. 7K miles between each oil change......consider switching up to synthetic and do it yourself.

The dealership is no place to have any routine maintenance done. They will hose you more than anyone else. I recommend switching to a synthetic (I run Mobil 1) and only worry about it once a year.

Last oil change I did myself.
Did notice last week that the regular price of most oils (even at Walmart) has gone up.

I will be doing my next oil change soon:

$37.12 - Castrol Full Synthetic (6.5 qts @$5.71 each inc tax)
$6.00 - Toyota Filter & crush washer

FYI, the costs I posted above are for the 5qt containers.
The cost of single quarts of oil are higher/quart.
