Just dropped my jdm 5vzfe into me 4runner. Because it was jdm I had to move the oil cooler over to it from my motor, and relocate the oil filter from the back location (where the cooler goes) to the front one.
I started it up, and almost immediately I get a stream of oil running down the block from under the filter.
The cooler is pretty much dry.
I have ensured that the filter is tight...
The block union, fitting that the filter screws onto, is torqued down tight. And I ensure its to the 18 ft lbs torque spec.
I can't figure this out. As much as I can tell there is no other seal on the filter, aside from the one it comes with.
The only two things I can think of, are a faulty filter getting another tomorrow to check this.
Or when I installed the cooler. I didn't have the o ring for it, so I just put a "little" bit of red fipg where the o ring would go. I stress little.
I'm lost here and need some help guys. Thanks for reading my rambling
