So just to update this thread and anyone looking into this. I took my k and n filter back to advacne. He pulled everyone one of the filters off the shelf and check them with the extra union fitting I brought with me. And not a single one of them would thread onto past one thread....

So in short. I was the first guy that noticed a bad batch of filters, that caused the recall. At least that's how he explained it to me.

And I got my money back!
