Ok have some cash what to do what to do

I have a bone stock 99 SR5 runner that is about turn 67k miles and needs nothing. So I have no issues coming up and feel it may be time to start improving the truck. With a hair less then 1k to spend this is what I have been looking at.

I have found the OME lift kit [believe is 2.5 inches] for about 700 dollars.

But I don't do a ton of offroading so was thinking I would pick something up that I would get more use out of.

So I was thinking headunit,back up camera,remote starter.

The remote starter would be nice because I have a 2 year old and warming the truck up for him would be nice. But I could do as I have been doing and just run out to the truck and start it.

What double din units with back up camera capabilities are good buys?

Or what single din units with seperate back up cameras are recomended?

I can relate to you, I have a 2000 SR5 4x4 that just hit 59,000 miles and I am going to put about a grand into it. However I am thinking lift and new tires at this point......

A grandin your pockets and no idea what to spend it on, I wish I had your dilemma! . I would go for the creature comforts first, if you don't plan to offroad much. Remote start units are great to have, I really enjoyed mine on my last T4R. I have also looked at double din units, I think they look better than the single din just because you dont have to put in the cubby shelf to fill in the space between the dash and a single din unit. The only single din with a touch screen Ive had was a Jensen VM9312 (See pic).

It was a decent unit, but I wouldn't buy another one. If you go with a double din let me know how you like it. I'm still hesitant to pull the trigger.

I don't know anything about back up cams, and really, I've never needed one. But I did just buy a rear sonar sensor for when my wife drives the truck. It goes into the rear bumper and the read out tells you how far away the obstacle is. It is only $50 and my friend who has one in his Tundra says it's very accurate.

To be honest..Its not really my money I am spending

For a simple remote start the place down the street does them for like 220 plus tax installed.

I would buy a new alarm with remote start and a new double din head unit.

Or some new rims.
