In my case, it's more mental....
I'm soon to turn 48, which is laughably young considering some here. But I've allowed myself to balloon to 320 pounds; I have back problems, horribly out of shape, and wondering if I'll ever be able to really enjoy my rig.
So a change in lifestyle is coming soon (diet and exercise), assuming I can stick to it. It will be the 345,765,923rd time I try that...
Still, I'm glad to see that I'm not alone, and that others who are way more "experienced" than I am still make a go at it, so I have no excuses. :thumb:
I can identify with the lifestyle change my friend, at 65 I think it's time to stop smoking. I know it's not hard to do, I've done it hundreds of times before!
I used to stop smoking about twenty times a day. I don't miss it.
My son was suggesting I give it another try and asked me why I still smoke. He's an adult so I can explain it better than in years past. My explanation is that we are a family with serious addition issues, which he's very aware of. As the only immediate family member (excluding my kids) that hasn't been through CD treatment of one kind or another I'm "allowing" the only addiction that's not an immediate danger to other family members and friends as the other addictions are.
Kind of a cop-out but you'd have to know about my parents & brothers to really understand and I'm not about the share that. I have one vice but beat a bunch of others and I feel good about that even with the understanding that my remaining addiction will shorten my life.
