Anyone swap a OM617 turbo into a 3rd?

I can pick the car up for 700; running.

Would be interesting with my 5 speed swap.

No more emissions in NC either.

Seriously thinkin about it......

Have read about a 2001 with 1KZ diesel and a 1st Gen with R2.8 turbo diesel , also VW TDI.
Would be great if you decide to do it and document it.

I recently picked up an 82 Mercedes 300d as a donor. There is an adapter kit from Doomsday Diesel that I plan on using. He also has adapter brackets for the A/C and power steering etc. I have a 1" body lift installed to make a bit more room over the front diff. Any thoughts on the motor mounts? Thats really the biggest challenge I see for me. The rest is pretty straight forward. Anyway glad to see somebody else is thinking of working one into a 3rd gen.
