OME 906 coil A/B questions

Need input on install. 2001 all factory 4WD. Ever so slight driver side lean.

Installing tundra coils up front and OME 906 in rear with 5100s all around for a slight lift.

Noticed the 906 coils are labeled A and B. To those that have installed these, which coil did you use on which side? I assumed A on driver, and B on passenger, but I'm seeing the opposite in a few limited searches. Even seeing comments that those who called ARB directly are getting mixed recommendations from the factory. What are the real world results to achieve a level (side to side) vehicle?

I understand this is a popular setup, but I can't seem to get a clear answer through a search and watching a few videos.

Are the springs a different length between A and B? The taller ones would go on the driver side to compensate for driver and fuel i believe. :cowboy:

The A coil is slightly taller. My confusion started when checking to see if it was obvious to use A left and B right. Some said to use taller on right rear side to offset taller left front springs. Some said ARE suggested this because of engine torque wrap on the body. Didn't know I was driving around a powerhouse hot rod fire breather.

Going to call ARE myself today.

Thats funny, def don't believe what you hear on the net.

Taller springs drivers side always. Tundras have color code for location, 906's taller one DS, installed same parts last March on 01.

As others above have stated, tallest goes on the drivers side. Mine have been in 4 years and still dead level.

Instructions were confusing, retailer gave wrong directions. I think it stems from drivers and passengers side being reversed in OZ.

It's just tallest on the drivers front and back unless you like a bit of lean.

^^^What he said. Some ARB springs were packaged for the Australian market, where driver's side is the left. In general, I thought 906s were correctly labeled and the backwards instructions were on other numbers. In any case, my 906s had instructions to put the taller "A"on the driver's side and she sits perfectly side-to-side.

Whatever your instructions, taller spring goes on the driver's side.

Thanks for the replies. As is usually the case, you guys are very informed and useful.

After speaking to ARB tech, they essentially said the same thing. Use the A labeled longer spring on the heavier side of vehicle. In my case, the drivers side because of fuel tank, driver, ect.

He also mentioned something about the typical "4Runner lean" that I didn't know. He stated that the driver side rear spring perch was actually a little lower on this model. True? Who knows.

Can you post a picture of what this looks like? My 2906 springs were labeled 906X on both and even on the box. It sits near level in the rear. 1/4" higher on passenger side.

These were the labels attached to each coil. Notice the A and B on the right side or the labels. I couldn't notice one taller than the other just looking at them. The tech I talked to at ARB did mention that A could be stiffer than B possibly.

Well shoot. I wish they coils were identified with paint or something permanent. I pulled the tags off and installed them before i realized they were side specific.

well shit.... i didn't pull the whole tag off so i didn't see this! Gosh I hope it did it right because I just wasted 2 hours today swapping from left to right lol....still same lean!

Weirdly.... my 880 front springs don't have A/B on them. I just pulled the sticker and found nothing...going to look at my 906 in the rear and see if I set those right. I have a feeling they are on wrong...

Confirmed my 906 are installed reversed...ugh. Time to flip them later today.

How did you know they were wrong, measuring the height in the rear corners?

I left the stickers on the springs due to laziness. I pulled one off and confirmed it was wrong.

Also the car wasn't level in back. I was 36" driver and 36 1/4" passenger with half gas. Now I'm 36 1/8" on both sides.

My front seems better now too. Only about 3/8" off now which was how the stock springs were too. Driver side lower.

That sounds about right. The rear A/B thing can't make a LOT of difference, given the factory springs are interchangeable.
