OME lift question....

Its about time for me to lift and I have a quick question...I am getting the OME 891 coils for the rear and the OME 881coils up front. Do I need anything else for the lift (extensions, etc.)? I am going to be using my stock shock setup for now, but can I just swap out my old coils for these and I'm good to go? Thanks...

I have the same suspension but purchased the OME medium duty shocks as well. I am not sure the the stock ones will be long enoufgh with the new length of the strut. One other item I ordered were two sets of trim packers. These are little metal rings that go below the bottom coil cup on the front struts. They add a little bit of lift to help level out the rake that is created by the rear lifting slightly higher than the front.

i would just buy some shocks too if your shock are stock. less of a headache. you save time and money this way.

I'm still using my stock shocks with no problems on my OME lift. I had my brake lines extended but I also installed a body lift at the same time.

i did the 3" inch Body Lift & 3" OME with the stock brake line. so it will work.

can I ask why 3" BL on top of the coils? This 4Runner is my DD and I'm not looking for anyything crazy..will the OME lift be enough for someone who does occasional off-roading? Also, with the BL, don't you have to mess w/ the bumpers, etc.? I'm just looking for a lil heigght w/out too much trouble.

for me it was just to clear the tires more. when i had only 3" suspension it pretty much looked like stock hieght but leveled out when my 4runner was loaded. the BL is alot easier to install then it looks. you only had to move the front bumper up 3" with a plate that is included. for me the suspension was a bit harder due to the fact that i needed a srping compressor. i acctached a picture of 3" suspension.

hey man. thanks for the pics. I can def. see the diff. now. Do you think I will be able to fit 33's w/ just the 3" lift? I don't think I want something as extreme as 3" BL on top of the coils, but maybe a 1" or so wouldn't be bad....

You can fit 285s (33s) under with a 2.5" lift but a solid 3" would be better but remember you might need a diff drop and watch those front CV angles since those can be an issue.

33" would fit on 3" lift, but you might need to do a little bit of trimming if its just suspension. it will rub at full lock in reverse. if you go with a 1"or 2" BL i dont think you would need to trim anything. Yes, do get a diff drop if you do go 3" suspension.

i dont have a diff drop.

you really just need the panhard drop bracket.

i have ome 891's in the back and ome front coils up front and ome shocks all around.

i didnt put in the topouts up front because they put a lot of stress on the lower balljoints, so id recommend leaving those out.

with my suspension lift and a 1" bl i clear my 33's really well, just a bit of trimming to the pinch weld.

i am drunk, but wow Lee didnt know that you ran without a diff drop. i dont have my panhard bracket but its tracking straight. what can i say. different truck & different usage. for each their own. well thats a good info to know. thanks for sharing. this is what makes the board so dam good. :bigok: plus i am all show what do i know about off roading.
