On the market again for a 4runner. Need your advice

I sold my 04 SR5 4x4 about 8 months ago with 100k miles. I was thinking about buying an 06 with 122k miles. It is the sport model. The dealership wanted 15000 but i talked them down to 13800. Does that sound like a good deal to you guys? I was trying to find a used one in that price range with lower miles but i was wondering if 122k miles was or wasn't bad with this year.

if it makes you feel any better, my 2008 V8 has 142k on it and has been a great truck. tires, brakes, timing belt, and fluids. the price sounds a bit high, but you do get what you pay for.

I found the same year with 86k but it has tan interior and is not a sport. This one has brand new wheel and tire package, aftermarket projector headlights and headunit.

Bought my 2003 SR5 2 years ago w/ 55k for $15748 now has 90,200 or so miles. Bought @ CarMax & as had no problems except small stuff. Biggest thing was the frozen caliper, since I have "connections" it only costed me $207.

I dont think thats a bad price, IF its in great condition. You might keep looking for something with a bit less miles.

Found one with like 35k miles, for a bit more you will have a truck for years and years to come.

Coleman to be honest i can't remember i think 11500 or 12500. I know it was one of the two. I had the same dang problem with my 04's calipers freezing. I think it's bs b/c after i replace one side the other side went immediately bad and im not joking. Are the 06 caliper better then the 04 calipers? I think it's rediculous Toyota put out such crappy calipers.

Not sure if you would be interested but I am contemplating selling mine now that my third daughter is here. Might need something larger that can accomadate 3 seats.

2008 sr5 black on tan and just hit 69k. OW 2.0 suspension but i used FJ rear coils. have the OW coils. Super clean inside and out. Not perfect but pretty damn near. I have done all of the maintenance since I bought it. Runs perfect and needs nothing right now. Put on cooper at3s last year, 265/70r17s.

I would want $17,900 for it which is what is owed to toyota. It does have the factory certified 7yr100k warranty on powertrain. I am only the second owner. No rust and parks in garage every night. Detailed twice a year...actually getting ready for its pre winter detail.

The price is a little higher than what you posted but I am really thinking of selling.

I think its a good deal, i got my 06 with that same mileage for 14800. BUT mine came with quite a few expensive mods like the bilstein 5100, spidertrax spacers, trd exhaust and cai, sound system and remote start

I just recently purchased a stock 2006 Sport ed,Shadow Mica, V8 w/ 93K for $14,995. Although stock, it was super clean and had an aftermarket Nav deck in it. I think your getting a fair shake if everything checks out, Carfax, etc...

well FYI, I just pulled a Manheim NADA Dealer only quick search of 08 V6 SR5's. this is what they sell for at auction right now. NOT certified warranty for another 30k and 2 years(has to be worth at least $750-1000), NO LIFT(at least $500), NO bigger tires(my dealer cost is $150 each =$600 plus mount and balance and alignment = $800 easy), radio amps and sub another $800 plus install. about roughly $3000 in add ons, as far as i can see from his sig

so a comparable truck that just sold is the 10/16/13 san antonio truck for $13500, but you will have to factor in they will get it retail ready, transport, certification, ect then it becomes a $18995 retail truck with NO mods.

Plus side is buying a truck from someone that will be honest and upfront about it. i hate the NOT knowing when i buy a used vehicle. dealers are snakes. if i can buy private i will, if i have to buy from a dealer, it better be a great deal OR it has to be a NEW vehicle.

I dont know either of you guys BUT on paper it seems like a decent deal. I can run a carfax for you guys if you interested. Just let me know.

Thanks Gshadow. He is actually waiting on pics from me but I just didn't have a chance today. Logged in just now to update him. I figured it was a deal but at least I know it is going to a good home and I hate dealers that try to rape you on price at trade in. I don't even count the mods on it as they are a pain to take off.

If he is interested he can run a carfax. I did when I bought it. I actually found the original owners business card in the side pocket before I bought it and called him. He simply traded in a few months earlier than his was for on a new and they gave him a new model at same lease rate so he went for it. He also seemed to lose his keys a few times but I have since remedied that with a friend at toyota and had a few sets made. LOL.

And, Gshadow can always be a third party since he is very close to me. Maybe you want some eyes on it if interested that have nothing to gain with either party. Just be careful as I can bribe him with beer. LOL.
