That does really stink. I have a paper one, but it was so helpful to post links to the correct chapters for those seeking advice. I did download the whole thing, but it's not as easy to use as the on-line version they had at NCTTORA. Hyundai posts their FSM's for everyone to use on their own website, why can't Toyota?

The same reason they lie and market the Pruis as an environmentally friendly product when in fact they are far worse for planet earth than our 4runners (due to the nickel production in the batteries).
I also downloaded it, if anybody needs it I would be happy to send it to them!
PS Its surprising they cant see that having this FSM out there is good business for toyota, as it will keep people interested in their vehicles for years to come! Would they rather have their vehicles parted out in junk yards because the service will outweigh the value of the car.

which is why they don't want people posting it for free. Toyota might come off greedy, but they are a company and I would rather have them make money and continue making products than be like so many other great companies of the past that either disappeared or turned to **** products. (sorry for the rant i have been looking at car audio products again and the new junk is just depressing, and makes me miss the "good ol days").
The good news is that you can pay $15 for the 2 day subscription and get all the exact info for your year truck, and not have to worry if the wiring diagram from the generic 3rd gen section is right for a newer/older model year.
I do agree though that does suck, because I often used that to point people in the right direction on repairs or to verify specs for myself.

I actually goofed the acronym, it's a DMCA... Digital Millennium Copyright Act... take down notice.
Basically, if someone has posted information/photos/etc that you own the copyright to, you can send them, and the server that hosts their website a DMCA take down notice. The web host is granted immunity from a copyright lawsuit if they act swiftly to have the content removed. Basically they notify the owner of the website, and if they don't remove it, the web host does. I think there are exceptions for content that is posted for educational purposes, and a few other things.
The intent is to protect intellectual property on the web. The only reason I know about it is because I had to threaten a guy with one for using my photos on his website without my permission.

Wow, That stinks. I used it many times especially for doing my v8 swap. This is how I found out that the Sequoia is more digital while the Tundra is more analog.
This also really helped me out by differentiating the Taco and the 4runner. Example Elocker wiring similar but totally differently wire colors.
The same goes for wiring on 2002 which doesn't jive with the 1999 at all.
I will miss it. Good thing i down loaded all that i needed ...:naughty:
On a side note: If you are serious about maintaining and repairing your Yota, buy the FSM. It makes everything easier. You can take it with you to the garage, dog ear the pages needed and do the repair fast and easy.
I have a mini library full of FSM's from Honda CRF450's, CBR954, TRX, Yamaha Raptor, Porsche, Saab, Bentley VW's, Audi, and many more that i can't think of. When ever I buy a car or motorcycle, I will get the fsm, then when i sell the vehicle, i never give the fsm away. I just add it to the old library. You never know if you get another Porsche in the future.

The previous owner of my 4runner bought the FSM from the dealer but never used it. I have a hard copy.
I am wondering if the website is not undergoing maintenance for the weekend possibly?
With all that work someone put into posting the FSMs, I will bet the 4runner FSM shows up again online.
