Opie and Anthony on XM...interested?

I am tossed between doing it, and not. I know a $1.99 is not much, but I don't want to feed these guys ego's anymore than they already are. Also, while they were on the radio they have their days where it fun to listen to, and sometimes even a turn on. But they also had days where it was just dead air.

Who else is thinking about doing this?

What do you mean 1.99, I might just end up with XM for the music don't know if I want to constantly listen to talk radio, like you said their where times they where good and sometimes it was just a bore, kills time on long drives when their funny

I miss the Opie and Anthony. I really enjoyed it for the most part and found it hilarious. Who can forget WOW and many other funny pranks they did? I do agree with you though Iman, they did have some days when it was just a boring and senseless. How hard and costly is it to install XM radio in a 4Runner? I am definitely considering it.

To answer your questions.

O&A are going to broadcast on a Premium channel like Playboy does. Which means that you will need to pay an additional $1.99 per month to have access to that station.

How hard is it? Depends on what you buy. If you buy a car radio install that depends on you; how good are you with that? If you did what I did, I got one of those portable units, and I have the antenna on the far back of the car, running into my trunk area, tucked in on the left side behind the plastic paneling, undertneath the rear seats, underneath the floor mats in the rear, wrapped up and tucked in on the right side of the driver seat, and just the right length to extend to the unit that is on a stand that I stuck next to the climate controls.

As far as WOW; that was a thing of beauty. Me and a guy I worked with went to NY one day, and I told him it was WOW today, and after I was done explaining we had a sign made in a few seconds. Nobody WOW'd us, but I did get some guys in a van asking what WOW was about. I just told him to listen to O&A, especially on Wednesdays. (How many people right now are reading this and saying, "What is WOW?")

I figured that, an extra 1.99 to listen to them they better be worth it.

I loved WOW, nothin like driving somewhere and a car full of girls WOWs ya I still have some sickers I gotta find

Cant wait for O&A to get back on I think they are very funny, as for the $1.99 it is just spare change approx 7 cents a day and it is still cheaper than sirrius

Rounding of to the nearest dollar that comes to $24 a year for two guys that you will not listen to all the time, unless you are position to do so. Do you still think that is worth it?

Most of us drive $30,000 + 4runners not to mention only getting 12 miles to the $2.00+ gallon don't think $24 a year will break us for a little humor

I think you are missing my point. It's not about being affordable, breaking the bank, being too expensive, etc. It's about are they really worth it? Yes now being on XM what was bleeped will not be, what they will do might be more offensive to some; is it really worth paying for? I know Howard Stern is going to be replaced one time or another, and I already had issues about paying for a monthly service to listen to XM. Now they are saying I need to pay more money to listen to them? Why should I? There are plenty of other stations that do not make you pay extra. As far as the Playboy station goes, well as far as the T.V. station has been around you always had to pay extra for that.
Also I do think these guys are funny; sometimes. But I also believe they have BIG HEADS! They started off really humble; I still remember the early days when they were instructed to play music. Then they got some ratings, and were making their mark. Time passed by and they become bigger than most DJ's. While their popularity grew so did their heads. They started doing clearly "illegal" stunts. I have no issues with public sex, but it's still illegal.
So are they worth the extra money? I don't know!
