Opinions of Dupli-Color Touch Up Paint Pen

2014 4Runner SR5 - paint color - magnetic gray metallic - Toyota color code 1G3.

Dupli-Color makes a touch up paint pen for my 4Runner:

Fix Your Scratch | Dupli-Color

Product has 30 day warranty and the video they have on youtube recommends using every 30 days.

I realize touch up with a paint pen won't last forever, but I'm hoping to not have to redo this 12X a yr.

Would appreciate peoples opinions of this product.

They work just about the same as any touch up paint. For rock chips I think it works good, the brush part, but I've never been able to touch up deep scratches with those pens. I guess I just don't have the magic touch...

What are you looking to touch up?

A thin stretch about half inch long - along outside of drivers side door - dinged paint opening door.

Like on the edge of the door? If so I think that would be a pretty easy fix with one of these, and should come out pretty good. Large scratches on flat surfaces like the hood or side of the door are hard to make look right though.

Correct and yes - I can imagine that a hood or middle-of-door scratch would not come out well with one of these touch up pens.

No problem. For chips there I just use the brush as well. Just use the edge of the brush since they're kinda long. I don't like the pens. I can never get the paint to come out properly. Good luck with the repair!

Always used the brush part never the pen, didn't have any luck with that.

Purchased one in Titanium Metallic, and it was much darker than the paint on my 4runner. Not even close.
