opinions on new front bumper

Not a fan personally. Looks bulky and the winch is low for me. Just my opinion though.

cost was minimal as i had alot of the items at the shop. i did build it myself. as for the winch sitting to low, i think that the pic makes it look lower than it actually is. you would have to cut the grill out or stick it out past the grill to get it much higher.

Gotta give you props. I wish I had the skills to make something like that. I like that it looks different from the typical aftermarket bumpers I see. But I would also like to see the winch up higher. I also think the lights and the cut out for the winch make it a little bit busy for my taste.

For making it yourself not bad. Like stated winch is low. And yes to raise it up higher you will have to cut grill. But I would rather have better approach angle and cut grill than low winch that can get hung up. That winch looks to be first point of contact on the lower front when you decide to wheel that thing.

it would be pretty hard to contact the winch first as the winch sits back and there is a full skid plate that starts behind the fairlead and runs clear back

Build quality and ingenuity look great! Wheel it and try it... only thing I can see is might be a little low in front regarding your approach angle and I would have brought the end flares closer to the body fender.

I was thinking it looked like an RC bumper with the way it's flat and wraps around, wife walked by and asked why your truck had a cleft palate.

Looks like you did good building it, the design I personally would have a better approach angle and "thinner" (not so bulky) side wings, other then that I like it.

And it seems like you did a good job building it and that IMO, is better then just buying a aftermarket bumper already built for you that multiples already have. You built yours with your own hands and probably not all the best or correct tools (like mine) but still did it. There should be more diy'ers.
