opinions on this used arb bumper

Don't know too much about these bumpers but I think it will fit on my runner. He will sell both the bumper and budbuilt front skid for $750. Fair price? Seems a little high to me.

You can get that bumper new for $866, shipped to your door, with all the hardware, instructions, and warranty. I'm thinking $600-650 is a fair price for that bumper.

Edit: Didn't notice for skid too. That's better, but the skid looks pretty beat up. I'd offer $650 for both, but the bumper looks pretty faded.

Got my rig plus a few things for it off craigslist with good experiences. Not afraid of craigslist at all. You just need to be careful just like any other purchase.

Thamasta was a member on TTORA. I think those things are a few years old... The skids look rough (sand and paint for sure) but the bumper could probably clean up nicely.

For $750 I think it's an OK deal. If it were a full set of skids, I would highly recommend.

If that's the bumper/skid you want though, seems like a decent time to buy.

That said as long as the bumper wasn't in an accident it should be fine.

I would argue that I'm only offering $600 most because I will have to re-powdercoat it to make it like new.

Just want to point out it is $750 for the skid and bumper. Thinking about offering $600 or $650 tops for the two of them. Don't really need the bud built but thought if I asked for both the price would go down. I could either sell it on or a friend might need it.

First go look at them; despite fairly clear photos, the ARB could be more hacked up than it appears. Be ready to walk away.

So have read though the install of these. I see there is cutting of the frame but no welding. Will cutting the frame not allow me to do certain things to the 4Runner in the future or are the ends not important (except for connecting an arb bumper)? Just concerned if I cut I will not be able to convert back to stock or a different aftermarket bumper after the hack job. Thanks so far for the advice everyone.

Just keep the plates that are cut off of the end of the frame if it concerns you. These plates are what the stock bumper is bolted to and could be welded back on if you ever want to go back to the stock bumper.

I don't know about 99-02 but the stock bumper on a 96-98 does not bolt to the end of the frame. The stock bumper only bolts to the sides of the front body mounts and a few other places on the body.

To the OP, other aftermarket bumpers will need the front plates on the frame removed such as Addicted Offroad and Trail Gear to name a couple. Not a big deal....I never missed mine.
