I'm trying to order parts today to get going on a head gasket repair for my 96 SR5 and I'm wondering if I should get the whole kit, or just the head gaskets and maybe valve cover gaskets?
If I will need the entire kit I will order that but I don't want to get the kit and throw half of the gaskets away.
I'm also going to get new bolts, water pump, thermostat and timing belt.
Any other recommendations?

You can actually reuse Toyota head bolts! If it were mine, I'd probably just replace them, but in case anyone wants to know here are the specs:
17. INSPECT CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS
Using vernier calipers, measure the minimum diameter of the
elongated thread at the thinnest point, typically around 1/3 of the way into the threaded portion of the bolts.
Standard outside diameter:
10.76 − 10.97 mm (0.4236 − 0.4319 in.)
Minimum outside diameter: 10.40 mm (0.4094 in.)
If the diameter is less than minimum, replace the bolt.
Spark plug tube seals, valve cover bolts with oil gaskets, or just the oil gaskets, cam seals, cam cap plugs for the non-gear side of the head, and a tube of FIPG 103 (Toyota seal packing) for the corners of the valve cover gasket where it goes over the cam journals on the head.
Don't forget the timing belt idler pulley, tensioner, and tensioner pulley if you don't want to worry about having to open it back up before the next interval, due to bearing noise. (It's a small possibility, but you never know)
