Order of operations for electric upgrades
Looking for some advice. I am looking at upping my power in my 4runner. I have a large fridge, Dometic 80 (I am fat and like my food) and I have the kids portable DVD player and kindles. On our recent trip there was not enough power for both the DVDs and the fridge.
I like overkill.
I am looking at doing the "Big Three" and upgrading the alternator to the 270 Amp from https://www.dcpowerinc.com/
I then plan to move to the dual battery systems. I am considering the Group 35 Northstar and most likely the Shockworks relocation kit. Or, even though I cant seem to find reviews, the "off-grid-engineering" kit https://off-grid-engineering.myshopify.com/products/5th-gen-4runner-complete-dual-battery-system
Any reason not to just use the space near the firewall? I don't plan on a compressor there so it seems easier.
Anything you guys would do different? Any other ways that this should be tackled?
I like the idea of the larger alternator so I can charge the 2nd battery efficiently. I realize that 270 is huge, but I like overkill, and I plan to add a HAM radio, winch, and who knows what else eventually.
Thanks and sorry for the lack of pictures, my phone sucks.
