ok, getting mixed feedback from dealers. If I order new 2015 Limited from factory how long does it take? Has anyone ordered a vehicle?

Order

Ordered my 2013 July 2, arrived at port Sept. 23, dealer had it ready Sept. 28 - about 12 weeks.

Wait for an order and get what you want, not what the dealer wants to sell you.

I might be wrong but from what I understand you don't order from the factory, each dealer is allocated certain vehicles and they trade among each other through the distributor before they ever arrive. On Dec 31st I put in a deposit on a '15 limited and the dealer gave an estimate of late Feb / early March. They were able to trade allocations to get me one with a December production date, meaning it was in Japan and built already. It took a month to make it to port and I took delivery second week of Feb. It's possible the dealer has what you're looking for in their allocation and they can earmark it for you, or that they can contact another dealer who has your configuration in their allocation and just trade them one of their own allocations to get the right one for you.

Bang on.

It all depends on what your dealer can swing in terms of unit allocations already in the production schedule (fastest), if they already have a production allocation and can place a new order (or if they have to beg corporate (or the regional distributor) for a production allocation.

My dealer had to beg for production allocation from Toyota Canada, which took 3 weeks. I then waited just a few days shy of 3 months from the date my order was placed to receive my car.

Depending on where you are, dealer trades on 4Runners may be difficult. No one in Ontario, Quebec or Manitoba was willing to trade a 4Runner with my dealer. They were just too hot. He was able to find a unit across the country, but I didn't want to rack up the miles or the cost to bring it over.
