ORP’s glossy interior trim - bad for dust, fingerprints, and scratches?

Currently have an SR5 premium, and I’m considering purchasing a new Off-Road Premium. I prefer the appearance of the matte silver interior trim pieces in the SR5, as I feel like they probably conceal scratches, dust, and fingerprints better. That said, I have not spent time in an Off-Road Premium. Is this a valid concern? Or does the metallic finish help mask dust and fingerprints a bit? How about scratches?

Just looking at it, it seems like the glossy bits would be very difficult to keep looking clean. After 96,000 miles, the interior on my SR5 premium still looks almost like new. And is fairly low upkeep between detailings to keep it looking that way.

Thoughts from the group? Wondering if the same principle of silver paint on the exterior being the best at hiding scratches also applies to the interior.

you don't want the glossy or shiny surface for a lot of reasons. 1. fingerprints and scratches are noticable. 2. it could reflect from the sun while you are driving.

I can't even look at the silver interior trim pieces without scratching them, but that's just my experience.

This. Silver interior trim in my SR5P is the least durable interior surface of any vehicle I have owned.

The dark glossy trim definitely shows scratches, but for me this is an adventure vehicle, not a show car. That said it did just get a full detail including claybar and interior steam clean.

I've had cars with silver painted panels and they have never held up well to wear over time. I also find that it looks cheap. My wife, who is damn hard on interiors and rarely cleans them, has no scratches on the glossy interior panels of her 2020 ORP after nearly 2 years of use. I don't find dust or finger prints to be an issue either.

I've got a 17 pro with all the glossy black/metallic trim.

No issues here with scratches. It shows dust a bit more.

Easy solution that makes maintaining easier and creates less scratches....keep one of those mini Swiffer dusters in the glove box. Clean the entire dash in 1 min while sitting in traffic. Bonus it doesn't scratch the plastics.

I use this for my 4R and my f80 M3.
