Thanks guys! I didn't see any used ones on eBay and I'm not interested in painting it unless it's a last resort. A IH8MUD member located a spare and is sending it to me! YEAH! I did find a aftermarket one I may buy as a spare.

That's the type that won't fit. Backside pic shows the contact points for the pivoting contacts and not the slide switch.

Another way to tell is from the front. The slide switch has a plastic tip attached to a metal bar. The pivoting switch arm is all plastic.

Fronts. Black one is my new one. Correct type you need. Bag with the part number is what it came in. Gray one is the pivot type for 2nd gen trucks that won't fit.

Deceptive because the dimensions and holes are the same. Notice the difference in the switch arms and the outer border how it crimps near the switch on the gray one.

Backs. This is where you'll find the problem. That bulk down toward the bottom of the gray one just won't recess into the slot on the first gen truck. The gray design is better for sure, but it will not fit without cutting metal and trimming your headliner.

Console and seats are in! Looked up front to discover something missing! Time to rebuild steering arms???

I bet it will be much easier tucking that harness behind the deck now too!

And as for the interior light, That's just crazy! I have the EXACT SAME LIGHT! Of course, mine came from a (GASP!!!) nissan, but its exactly the same!

I know its hard to tell, but its the only photo I had of the interior light!

Its quite a bit brighter than the crappy led lamp in the stock location, but I don't use it very often, only when I'm in a really dark area and just can't see!

Nice! I'm going to start on interior lighting soon, but it will probably be gradual as I'm going to redo all the panelling in the rear first.

Just grab a dome light from a 2nd gen. Its just slightly bigger but will still fit. Junkyards are full of them. I think I paid like $2 at a pick and pull for mine.

Started on the bumpers finally! I'm starting with the rear as it should be easier. I'm going to add a good amount of support to their design. I think it will turn out nice when done, plus I'm adding a swing out. When both are done I'll have them sand blasted and powder coated.
