over 231k :)

I went for a wheel alignment recently and the mechanic told me that the front shocks are leaking oil. I have 50k in my 2007 SR5 4WD. I am wondering if warranty will cover that. I have bought new KYB shocks just in case, havent put them on yet.

Other issue was the melted read hatch handle/switch. Other than that, no major issues so far.

German cars are fine, but they cost more to maintain than to own them.

I owned two and vowed never to buy the hyped machines anymore. Shoddy build and aweful reliability, add stealerships stealing money right in front of your eyes for the most trivial of maintenance work.

if you have XREAS suspension then thats common for it to wear out at 50k miles. to check to see if you have it look at your front or rear shocks and if there is a hose or line running to the top of it then you have XREAS. its supposed to transfer oil to shcoks when turning to give less roll but it is very unreliable. if its leaking replace with the kyb's and dont buy more XREAS cause its expensive as hell and only lasts like 50k miles

yes I did, but not until about 220k - it still looked good according to my mechanic but I was getting nervous, lol - it's been fine since

For the original poster:
Have you had the transmission fluid flushed? I have been wanting to have mine done, but then saw some posts where people started having transmission problems afterwards, so I have been reluctant to do it.

Thanks!

I had mine done at about 90k (by my brother at the dealer) and never had any issues with it. I have heard that argument with other cars as well though...

I dont have XREAS. I went to the dealer to ask the price out of curiosity and he said they were around $178.00 per shock. I had already bought the KYB for around 100 a pop.

If the weather clears up i will have to ask the oil change place to replace it for me. Was reading the service manual and looks like its complicated.
