Overhead 6 switch panel

Here's my latest project I've been working on. All switches are from OTRATTW.com

Started out by removing the OEM overhead console (I actually bought a spare to do this with) and then removing the sunglasses tray by squeezing the plastic apart and pulling it off the posts that hold it in place.

I daisy chained and soldered my connections to save some space up top, in retrospect, may not have been necessary. All connections are covered in liquid electrical tape to prevent shorts.



I flipped the rockers so that I would have dependent indicators as the lower lights



To get the 6 switch block to stay in place I sued heavy duty velcro. As you will notice, the actual side of the block is too short to fit perfectly in the sunglasses holder, so I used black ABS plastic to shim it out for the velcro. It is basically invisible. It also allowed to to adjust the angle. I epoxied the ABS to the holder and stuck the velcro on it.

and here is what it looks like mounted



I will be running 18G wire to a bussman relay box which I am building at the end of the month.



Wires all color coded with electrical tape, connections heat shrunk and soldered. I was going to use a 6 position harness, but it wouldnt fit as well and was too bulky for the overhead area so I went with insulated disconnects instead.

And the best part?

It still holds my sunglasses which sit on the lip of the switch block, perfect fit!

Is the panel itself from them too? I know they make the switched as I have some already

I wanted to order rocker switches from OTRATTR. Did you order the rocker only or was it a different option?

I ordered the rocker and switch body. V1D1 option, I believe. One indy light and one dependent

Do the switches that fit in the console and knee bolster have a base number? In other words how do you know which ones fit the factory holes?
 
I think he's asking how you know if switches fit in stock switch locations, either replacing an OEM switch or replacing a blank.
 
What I mean is how do you know which part number you need? Obviously it varies by the switch function, rear camera, light bar etc... but are they all the same dimension?
 
I looked at one of these panels and I think all th switches are the same size. Kind of a generic size like the daystar ones that will fit in the stock spaces with a little trimming
 
That looks boss! I'm planning on a 6 switch setup for my traction controls soon, glad to know my efforts will be worthwhile :D
 
Zop doesn't need a winch. You can't get stuck when you spend all your time in your driveway wiring up blingy switch panels.

Those do look slick. I want one.
