Overland Warehouse Suspension System for 5th Gen 4R

When I spoke with him he said that the 2.5" shocks usually come with the 700lb springs.

I'm not planning on adding a lot of extra weight, so I was interested in the 650lb springs. It should provide a firmer, more controlled ride than stock without being too harsh. Andries also confirmed that the shocks are valved to match the springs which will also help smooth out the ride.

I was just wondering about your setup... I'm looking forward to hearing your driving impressions.

Again, the truck and suspension setup look great.

700 lbs. springs? I'm running 700 lbs. spring on my Titan 4x4 with extended UCA and LCA, and it's pretty stiff. But they have custom valving so that will probably make a difference.

^^ haha! Yep 700 lb. springs. OW will offer 650 lb. springs with their 2" diameter kit which is more oriented to on road than off road.

I have yet to go offroading :crybaby:

I just measured middle of hub/wheel to the fender and my measurements are:
Front 23"
Rear 24"

Those that have a stock Trail Edition, would you be able to measure your middle of hub/wheel to the middle of the fenders and post the numbers up? I forgot to do it pre-lift and therefore I have no idea of the amount of lift I got.

The height of my 4Runner is 79" to the top of the roof rack and about 74" to the sheet metal 4runner roof for those that wonder about fitting a lifted 4runner into a garage.

iDRiVaT4R - with your lift and Baja Rack, do you have clearance problems in parking garages and other places? thanks!

Egstyle^^ I'm gonna take it off road, see if the springs settle a bit and go from there. I figured the fronts might settle just a little bit since they are 700lb springs, and the rear might settle a bit more, after that, I'll just lower the front to be about 1" lower then the rear and get it realigned. Most guys would probably also recommend a diff drop kit for the front with this much lift.

sgsymon<< Regarding the height in parking garages, Most garages I think are around 7' tall so I should be ok, have yet to test it though.

On Sunday I went ahead and adjusted the Coilovers to lower the front end. I was at 23" from center of wheel to fender, I am now at 22.37 inches. I basically lowered it 5/8 of an inch. That brings me to a little over 2.5" of lift up front.

I know I didn't lower it all that much, but the truck seems to ride much more smooth on the street. It might all be in my head, but it rides more like a caddy now. Before, I was feeling all the little imperfections in the street, now I feel nothing. The front suspension feels matched to the rear now, before the front seemed more stiff.

I also knew as soon as I load cargo in the rear, the rear would sit lower than the front, and I prefer it to sit level with cargo. My CV inner boots looked maxed out, most of the fins were touching, which is another reason I lowered the front. I want them to last as long as possible, although they do look easier to take out than on my 88' 4Runner. That was a PITA.

Got w/ Andries and put a OW 2.5" kit on order today w/ long travel rear option

Also got some Total Chaos UC's ordered as well

Can't wait to get this setup put on.

Then I'll need to pickout the wheels and rubber. Hopefully come the new year I'll be lifted and running 285/70 tires.

Torn between AR Mojave's (love the military look) or the Ultra Gauntlet's (love that price)

You will love the set up. I have no complaints with mine.
