This is awesome. I hope to do more overland trips like this. May I ask if you are part of the Overland Bound page, they have lots of info on there and great insight to more trails you can take your vehicle on.

I've been lurking on this forum for a while as I get ready to pull the trigger on a new 4Runner. I have really enjoyed your videos. The editing, music, and photography are awesome, especially the drone footage. I look forward to your upcoming ones.
By the way, I just returned from a short Spring Break trip to your area (Seagrove on 30A). The weather certainly didn't cooperate this time (didn't expect 38 degrees!), but I look forward to returning. That was my first trip there, and I was thoroughly impressed.

great vlogs! It's refreshing to see the honest and humble decision making when assessing risk and the consequences of the situation over ego! Plus I enjoy the insight into the mundane things that often get left out in other vlog attempts to show only the epic-adventure part of the trip.
I will be showing my wife and girls. If they see your kids surviving these kinds of trips they will hopefully want to join me the next time I go!

Hey everyone!
It's actually been a while since I've posted but I've been keeping an eye on the forums!
Last fall, I came up with the brilliant idea to document our family's foray into overlanding, learning off-roading and gaining experience in spending more time outdoors. As I learned about overlanding, the idea became more and more intriguing to me and as we started planning and taking trips, we became hooked.
As a bit of a creative outlet, an accountability partner to make sure we keep getting out there and possibly some inspiration for others, we created a YouTube channel for our vlog series.
I'm not sure it would be polite for me to clog up the forums with a new post every time we release a new vlog (weekly), but if it's ok with all of you, I'll update this post with the videos as we release them.
To get started, I'll post our first video and the last two here, and if you would like to see any of the others, perhaps I could invite you to visit our channel on YouTube.
Our first few vlogs we get started off on overlanding on the Georgia Traverse. We have visited the Apalachicola National Forest and have visited a few off-road destinations to get some experience handling obstacles, etc.
We just released our 13th vlog last night, which was our first small trip (mostly an experimental trip) with our new-to-us Turtleback Trailer we purchased from another forum member. Actually, I believe our actual trailer was the Expedition Portal demo unit from 2015 - but please correct me if you happen to know better.
We also just returned from 3 days on the Trans American Trail and will be releasing that three day vlog series in a few weeks time.

I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing to get these videos to embed - on this forum there isn't the filmstrip icon and I'm not sure the iframe code is working. But I know YouTube videos can be embedded as I've seen others do it - so sorry!

Great work on the Vlog! I am excited to take my son on similar adventures when he is a bit older. Are you guys planning any trips out west this summer? If you are in colorado and are looking to get out on the trails, let me know.
I can't stand most of the new overland blogs and vlogs, and I was all set to hate this one, but it's pretty good. Your video editing is spot on. Not too many selfie shots, no endless GoPro trail ride footage, you talk about your gear just enough, and you're honest about it all.

I won't say I "hate" what others are doing, but here's my thing: if I'm making something that I keep wanting to fast forward if I watch or am showing someone else - then I need to do something different.
I'm actually pretty shamlessly copying Casey Neistat's style - and while partially it's because I really don't have any true creative talent, it's also because his style is very compelling to me and I'm having a blast editing and making these videos this way. Why do it if I don't love it! haha
