P0306 - Will it come back?

The other day I was heading in to work after my 4runner sat in the driveway for 4 days during Michigan winter snow and rain. I got about 2 miles from home, and when I went to accelerate from a stop sign, the engine started shaking bad and I got the flashing CEL. I let off the go pedal and it calmed right down and the light went out, probably 4 seconds of total misfire.

I quickly opened up my Torque app and saw the P0306 code for cylinder 6 misfire. I cleared it, drove the rest of the way to work, and home again. I have had no issues with probably 50 miles on it since the initial code, and it hasn't thrown the code again.

Plugs, wires, and coils were done about 2.5 years ago (I still have the OEM coils so I can pop that in if it comes back). I've read enough threads to be worried about the injector being the culprit, and have prepped myself with Timmy's fuel injector video.

My question is, should I get 6 new (reman'ed) injectors on the way for an inevitable return of the issue, or is it possible I got water or something funky that caused a hiccup and I might not see the problem anytime soon?

This is my daily, so sending my injectors in for cleaning can only happen after I swap in new ones.

Well you did the right thing by letting off the throttle any time the CEL light blinks. The blinking is the ECU saying there is a really big misfire going on that if it continues long enough will pour too much raw fuel into exhaust possibly harming cats, possibly. I wouldn't worry about a few seconds...

I wouldn't start worry about new injectors. I'd suggest making sure they stay clean first. I've used a goofy named product I first got because I wanted an alcohol fuel treatment for my quads.

It worked so well I then used it on all other small engines and then my vehicles. It works in a couple ways to help clean intakes, fuel system, injectors and finally engine internals (freeing them of carbon over time).

It is less expensive per ounce than any other alcohol fuel treatment I've come across and I get it on amazon by the quart for about $25.

It only takes 1 oz per 18-20 gals, so the quart lasts awhile across a few vehicles and mowers.

This could clear up the issues you came across and it really should be done regardless as a preventative.

If it will come back maybe. Could be as simple as a spark plug also Could be a vacuum leak. Check the hoses, clean the maf. test the coils, wires, injectors. Check fuel trims.I had a misfire on 3 and I replaced just that with an oem and almost 100k miles later still A ok. So it's up to you if you want to replace all six as a precaution. Isolate the issue and go from there.
