I am interested in this as well as my truck threw the code this morning and I need to use it until I can get the replacement part (Wednesday). I drive at least 120 miles a day going to and coming from work.

Would recommend driving as little as possible. Depending on how your engine is running (mine was running 2% rich when my AFR sensor went), you could run the risk of flooding the catalytic converter. Someone here on the forum might have a little more information on how serious of a threat this is, but the thought of sending excess fuel into my converter made me a little nervous until I replaced the sensor.
This being said, I didn't realize that at the time and drove for another 1000 miles or so. Haven't seen any real issues yet including an inspection in NY.
On another note for those who will replace this sensor, be weary that the bolts holding the sensor into the exhaust may have completely corroded away depending on where you live. I had to use a hammer and a chisel to break apart the nuts WITHOUT damaging the screw boss that is attached to the exhaust pipe.

AF Ratio Sensor
The AF Ratio Sensor I ordered arrived this afternoon. It only took me a little over 15 minutes to change it out ( I took my time). I disconnected the negative battery terminal and pulled out the EFI fuse before I started. The codes were cleared when I was done and reconnected the battery. The 10mm bolt and 12mm nuts came out pretty easily, I did not even have to spray them penetrating oil. Having a rust free vehicle really helped. The hardest part actually is trying to squeeze in underneath the truck.:redbrick: I should really ditch the running boards soon

Do you how this differs from a Cali emissions 4Runner with 2 cats and 2 02 sensors?...

Trick question, huh? There is no such thing. If it's a Cali two-cat system, it has an A/F sensor in front and O2 in back just like this one. Two O2 sensors means one cat, period.
ONLY an A/F sensor found on the Cali-type two-catters will throw a P1135.

My bad, not a trick question, just an ignorant question....
I went to the dealer and they hit me with $500 quote for the 2 sensors.
$312 for one & $273 for the other. Ouch
They had to look it up by my VIN.

You can get OEM Denso on Amazon at about $200 for BOTH, less if the front is an O2.

I have a 2002 Cali emissions...

No, I don't believe that there is a part number labeled on it. You can go to Denso's website to see what part is correct direct from them.

This is correct. The many p/n's vary only by wire length so the p/n only goes on the box. Go to:
Find My Part | DENSO Auto Parts
Then go buy on Amazon or RockAuto using the Denso P/N.
But 2002 is easy. Only one choice. 234-9002 A/F sensor in front and 234-4261 O2 sensor in back. No 5 speeds, no 4 cyls, no cali/fed in 2002.

The A/F sensor fixed my issue for the P1135 code so far...

Searching through the threads to try to find an answer to my issue and I came across this thread, although it doesn't help my situation.
I have not made enough posts to start my own thread so I am adding on to this one:
My codes will not clear. I reset them, had every possible problem professionally fixed, still codes will not clear. Took it to the Toyota dealer thinking they could pass it on emissions since my local mechanic couldn't (due to the codes not clearing) and they said they couldn't get them to clear either. No fix. they ran it through the cycle 6 times and they would not clear. So how do I get the emission sticker I need if even the dealer cant get them to clear. Help!

Not enough info to help, not even close. Need to know model, engine, and year, Cali. or Fed. , exact code numbers thrown, and exactly what has been done to try to fix them.
