yes and no, base price amazon is cheaper, amazon also collects tax so it becomes more expensive. Passenger side is ALSO more expensive by $23 on amazon. SO for OP he did do better than amazon in all aspects. With free shipping. Just sayin'.....

But you didn't do too bad. :) to try and make the OP feel bad. Just sayin'......

Actually, the passenger side is only $2 more on Amazon.

As far as taxes go, I thought that was standard now. Obviously it's always been illegal to not pay taxes on online sales, but I thought the govt. put an end to it this year? Even discounttiredirect.com told me they are going to start collecting tax now which is why I went ahead and ordered tires. Well heck, if you take the tax off OK you save a couple of bucks, only because of their 40% off sale. Nice find OP.

Semantics........... :violin:

the $2 more pacesetter is NOT in stock. not available. so mute point dude

Where do you get your infomation from about online sales tax? IT WAS NEVER REQUIRED TO COLLECT SALES TAX WITH INTERSTATE COMMERCE, unless there is a physical presence aka brick and mortar store in that state. thats when you need to file sales tax. Until the "amazon-law" went into effect.

i will give you the link so you can read correctly, now i know what S p a r k y is talking about with you. everyone is wrong, you are right. geez

How did he do better in all aspects? A pair of Pacesetters V6 manifolds sell for $469.70, free shipping / no sales tax on Amazon as of today.
Just sayin..... <--- I swear that's the stupidest phrase ever!!

amazon also collects tax so it becomes more expensive.

It depends what state you're in. For me they don't collect any sales tax and if the OP lives in Nevada they don't for him either.

Op, should have a v8, considering the prices he quoted. They are online with what I paid.

As for the tax thing, it varies from state to state. It varies from vendor to vendor depending on their gross sales. Iirc, 1 mil is the number.

I have considered taking my passenger side off to see if I can repair it, it is the side that seems to be making the most noise. Anyone else try to repair theirs?

Only trying to save the money to put towards replacing the factory X-REAS system.

Having just went thru replacing both, don't try and repair. Just not worth the time or effort involved since there is too high of a chance for failure.

To swap passenger side out. You need to remove the motor Mount, possible snap several head studs. Just to change a gasket, that is busted for sure. Then most likely your manifolds are so rusted that they just leak out from the edges. And this is after you try getting it out for the last 3 hours in your drive way, since you don't have a lift and it was a huge pain in the butt to get that one bolt behind the frame. Plus you didn't have a acetylene torch to burn that bolt off.

I hope you get the idea, I did when I attempted it at my shop after 20 minutes of looking at it. I brought it to my trusty muffler shop, they swapped out my passenger manifold in 3 hours and $175 later I was out.
Some thingsare not worth cheapie out on. This is one of them, I'm in for $1425 parts and labor for both manifold, all four sensors and labor (approx $350 had my exhaust installed too when I did my manifolds. With exhaust installed it was $425) since passenger's side was 175, I just doubled it. I did left and right separately since I had a p0420 code first, bad drivers cat. Then after 30 miles on the new cat, p0430 for pass cane on!

Pretty satisfied on my buy ! No tax & freeshipping ! Saw one on amazon for 207$ pass. side but driver was 360$ something so.........10$ more egh

Exhaust manifold...

Oljedi,

Thanks to this post I thought I would never get these for less then 500 bucks each... I tried amazon and looked up pacesetter... well I was able to go ahead and buy the driver side now passenger side will have to wait... for some reason they were on sale for 182$ delivered.. couldnt beleive it!!!

Thanks for the feedback gshadow325! I understand where your coming from, if I can get the replacement mani's for a reasonable price like captaininsano I can see why it would clearly be the best route to take.

No....in fact it's been perfectly LEGAL to not pay tax. States have been complaining about that for years. And the supreme court finally ruled in the States favor that they NOW can collect tax on items they sell on-line. States like Maine may actually be hurt by this ruling because of their largest employer (LL Bean). If Maine decides to require LL Bean to collect a sales tax...Bean has already said they'll move out of Maine into NH (no sales tax). This could result is THOUSANDS of lost jobs to Maine (i.e. MORE TAX REVENUE).

Fyi, feedback it's been over 3000 miles since this post and cat adventure. No cel since, besides the p0430 that was cleared with a spacer mod for $10. It has been fine no complaints.

Btw, but it from Amazon. They have great customer service. Found out one of my pace setter was missing a manifold gasket, called them and they gave me a 20%discount as a refund. Awesome
