If the door jams and under hood don't get painted, tape them off and rattle can them black and call it a day.

I'm looking forward to the end result.

You are going Magnetic Gray, gloss or matte clear?

That's EXACTLY what I plan to do.

Gloss finish.
Too many cons to Matte.

This is my Sunfire Red Pearl 1998.......

BLACK is beautiful when clean. It is dirty or dusty as soon as I finish washing and waxing it.

Called early this morning. It's being sanded and primed. Which means by now, it probably has paint on it. So I'll probably pick it up early next week I would assume.

Update

I got home from my vacation yesterday. So today, I stopped by the place.

I doubt it will be done on Wednesday. It looked like it was going to get painted today though. They had just finished body work. Photos soon!

I also plasti-dipped my front bumper!

Just a question:

Did you think of getting the bumper color matched to the rest of the truck? That would have been pretty sweet IMO....

Umm so update...

Not good update.

They painted it the wrong color. They painted it Evergreen Pearl (aka the original color) LOL

I walked in right as they finished baking it.

I was like "Why is it green?" The shop owner was right next to me and he said, "Oh **** I forgot to tell them to paint it gray."

They looked at the door sills and painted it the original color.

Blah Blah Blah

This is what it means: It will take a day longer then expected, but I get a free base coat. Oh ya.

Picture soon

Stick with the original color, they did you a favor. I'm telling you, I was young once too. I know what you're thinking but in the long run you'll be a lot happier.

x2.

If it's already been done, I think it should be left... it'll match the door jambs, engine bay, behind door panels, under carpet, firewall, etc. I'd also prefer the original door jam sticker indicating the correct color code, but that's just me.

Even if you don't care now (16 years old?), you'd definitely be happy you stayed with it when you get older. IMO, the exterior may look good, but the remaining Evergreen everywhere will get old. Even if you paint over the door jambs with black, there will eventually come a time when it will bother you, especially since you care about this truck as much as you do.

Be sure to take some sweet pics of the Evergreen before it's gone.

As soon as I saw it, I was like wow, that's amazing looking.

I've been on the fence ever since.

You guys were the final straw. I'm calling in the morning to make sure it keeps Evergreen Pearl.

You're making the right move. Looks awesome in that picture. Good luck man, I'd make it a point to be there before they open. Sometimes body shop guys start working before the shop even opens.
