So my report card came in the mail today, I'm pulling straight A's. So tomorrow I'm skipping school and picking up my 4Runner!

I wish I could get mine repainted. Pass door is a little oxidized. Noting a good buff can't fix I guess?
Looks great! I miss my 3rd gen so much, but enjoy the things about my 4th. (V8, 5spd auto by would prefer a manual, lumbar support, etc.)

The little mothers obviously love my 4Runner so much, they don't want to let it go. I'm picking it up at 2:45. It is currently 2:22. My school gets out at 2:25, meaning I could have gone to school. Whatever screw school.

And all I have to say is...
These guys suck ass! There's a f-ing run in the paint about 14 inches long on the drivers side! Every single body panel has a giant ass scratch in it! I have to get it smogged this week, but then, oh but then I will take it back, and I will get it fixed and I will get some of my money back!
Here's one picture to give you an idea. I'll have detailed photos of the bad spots in the next couple hours.

That sucks man, sorry. A lot of that stuff can probably be sanded and buffed out though.
I have been following your thread and was really excited to see matte paint. That having been said, I think you made the right choice staying stock.
I am really sorry to hear the bad news. (At least it looks really good in the picture!) Body shop people can be very hard to deal with especially when you have a problem with the quality of their craftsmanship, they usually just argue that they did there best. Good luck getting this resolved, I hope they act reasonably, and it goes smoothly.
I once went to pick up an Alfa Romeo that was supposed to be painted dark red, they somehow painted it bright Pink! It was a complete disaster to get resolved.

I just want it fixed now. Then I want to take it out to Anza Borrego! I want a major refund so I can buy an air locker! Then I want to save some money up and buy some sliders! Then I'll take it up Pancake Rock!

that sucks. especially after paying so much. i only ended up with one fairly small run on my rear bumper end. i didnt even notice it until a couple weeks after. i still havent taken it back yet to get it fixed, almost a year later. haha.

How much do you think I should ask for back (Money wise).
They've wasted my time. 4Runner looks like ****. All the trim is white with wax.
I will have them fix it, keep in mind.

That really sucks man! I had a similar experience years ago when I had the rear painted on mine, after my mom backed it into a deck!
The garage did a horrible job, the gaps were horrible, the rear hatch looked like it was open, when it was closed! The masking job they did was $hit, and they had paint on a lot of the window molding.
I ended up getting them to redo the work, but at the time, I was extremely ill with a terrible disease, and had no strength to fight with them. They ultimately repainted the rear for me, but it cost more money to complete, and my dad was out a few thousand bucks!
Take a lesson from me, DON'T STAND FOR IT! Go back there, show them the issues, and demand they either re-do the job, or advance some of your money back. If they refuse to do anything for you.... tell them you'll spread the word about their shotty work!

I'd be much more concerned about them making it right as opposed to getting money back. Let's say they did 90% of the job. Is it worth $149 in refunds as opposed to having them make it right? (no, it isn't) Just go back and tel,them your issues and that you want it done right.

I know, I told them too, and they didn't...
There's also a NEW dent in the rear hatch. It was not there when I dropped it off.
And another run in the paint on the hood.

The runs and scratches are easily repairable, but paint all over the molding will be a PITA. It would drive me crazy. I'm not a professional, but I found some awesome YouTube video for masking the window molding for the windshield and rear glass and you can't see any masking lines.
I just repainted my 4Runner, it only took about 2-3 hours to remove the door panels, door handles, mirrors, window molding and door seals. Not including the rear hatch (I had painted that earlier).
Knowing they probably had less than 200 in materials (I had ~300 in materials when I painted mine), a majority of the cost is labor. It wouldn't have taken much more effort to make that a decent paint job.
Hopefully they can fix it or give you a partial refund.

Paid with a credit card, being tax season and all.
I have to get it smogged. So probably take it back Wednesday or Thursday.
