Simply unacceptable.

Are you going in there alone so they think they're just pushing around a teenager? If so, perhaps it's time to get pappy involved.

Don't wait to smog it to take it back down there. Go down there and be there first thing in the morning. Don't talk to the guys painting, ask to speak to the manager, owner, anyone who cares about the image of the business, not just their pay check.

If they cannot fix it, I would file a complaint with the BBB and pursue a small claims suit.

I'm sorry that you had such a terrible experience.

"Pappy" has been involved the whole time. Sadly I have to get it smogged first. Registration runs out at the end of April. But ya, there will be some yelling go on. And if they refuse to fix it, BBB time definitely.

I think I said on the first page of the thread to take everything apart your self including the window trim and side mirrors. And if you had gone through with the color change, it would probably have looked a lot worse than it does now. I don't take anyone's word for what they say they are gonna do even when paying them so much money. No one is going to care about your car as much as you do. Once you drop it off it is in their hands to mess up and you arent there to supervise. Of course with the runs and scratches, there is nothing you could have done about that, that's just crappy work and completely unacceptable. Just dont go in there yelling and screaming right away or they will be more put off by you and might not want to be as helpful in wanting to fix their mistakes.

That sucks so bad man.. I feel for you I've had my experiences with shotty work and paid for it.. Hope it turns out in the end for you.. Good luck.

But on the other hand thanks for posting this cuz we can ultimately learn from your experience.. If I ever get my vehicles repainted I will definately do a serious inspection with a worker of the paint shop before and after the paint job and look at all the details of their work.

Again sorry for your troubles and hope they fix their mess ups.

Hmmm, I would make sure to be willing to work with them but demand they fix it "up to spec" ect.

Be willing to wait though because you will probably be without truck for several more days ..

Remember back at the start of this thread when a few of us called BS on a PRO paint job for $1500? Now you know why. You got a $1500 headache because you got what you paid for.

No need need to troll

As much as I hate to say it... I think offthebeatenpath is right. That was a really cheap price for a complete paint job. When I looked into getting a sport hood for mine, and have it painted with a blend into the front of the whole truck, they wanted almost as much as you paid for your entire truck to be done.

The shop I went to, is a very Reputable paint shop that has been in business for years, and has several locations here locally.

Unfortunately, you don't really know what kind of a job you'll get out of them, until you see their work. I for one, will NEVER go to a small paint shop ever again. After dealing with those clowns at the other place, my next paint job will be done with Regent Car Star! It costs more, but I'll get a better job done by far!

Terrible experience but a valuable lesson learned.

You get what you pay for with body work. I paid $1,500 for a front bumper, side mirrors and side skirts to get painted on a honda civic about 10 years ago.

I would have thought a complete paint job would have cost around $4K.

Hope it works out.

They WILL fix it, and I will get a quality paint job. Sure it gave me a head ache, but would it be worth it to pay another 2 grand for no headache. Hell no.

It's not always neccesarily about price. I paid around $2,000 for mine and besides one little run on the back bumper that I still have yet to get fixed, they did a great job. Its impossible to put a price to the pride people take in their jobs. It all depends on the shop you take it to and the painters they have there. The only way to tell would be able to look at other cars they painted or talk to other customers. Looking at pictures of what they painted won't do it justice either because even yours looks good from far away.

To everyone saying "you get what you pay for" stop hating. Life is all about making choices with limited resources and at 15 yes those resources are relatively limited.

I think it will all work out, just have to be patient.

The only thing I would pay top for is parts. Keep in mind the dealership charges a crapload for labor and they F things up all the time.

:P

Might not be bad idea to unbolt your bumpers and what not again. Don't want to give them any leverage to say you scratched it while assembling it.

Ya I'm taking the front bumper off. Because I did actually scratch the corner when I put it back on haha. That's what happens when your bumper is bent.
