I spoke to the owner this time. He said "Sometimes my guys get lazy, and it pisses me off! Bring it in on Monday, I'll fix it in 2 days." we shook hands and I drove home.

It looks great from here! They will probably be able to correct the flaws without doing any more painting.

Since you just had your bumpers off and said you replaced some hardaware may I ask a question? I'm trying to replace my rear bumper. The brackets are bolted to the back of the bumper. The bumper has four threads built-in. Did you replace the nuts on yours? If so what size were they? Mine are seized by what we on the east coast call "rust" and I'll have to cut them off. I would take the whole new bumper to Home Depot to match hardware but I *might* feel stupid. Maybe it's time I learn how to measure hardware.

Fit a wrench or socket on there to get an idea of the size (hardware will be designated by what size wrench it takes) then go to a small local hardware store, ask them if you can take a few different ones outside to match them up to the bumper. Most of those places are pretty cool like that.

I'm going to look very stoopid! I've been hanging on to this truck for my son who gets his learners in June 2013! I sold my '88 4Runner when he was imminant and bought a white '97 4Runner in his honor. It got totaled by a 2002 4Runner so I got this 2000 with the insurance money. At the time I did not like the 4th gen 4Runners. I drive it on the beach some and the only thing that has rusted is the rear bumper. I've seen several in this area with the same rust pattern.

Do you get your license on your actual 16th birthday? VA changed their laws and he has to 16 and 3 months for the actual license. Nine months of leaners permit.

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. The rest of the bumper uses 12mm bolts.

I get my license 2 days after my birthday. 6 months of permit.

Got it back today. Looks great they fixed everything! I have to wait a month for the paint to bake on before I can go run it through some bushes in Anza, but whatever. School ends in less then a month.

Tomorrow I'm cleaning the interior! Wooh!

I've gotta wash it, detail the interior, do a full break job, replace a wheel stud on the front passenger side, and take the gf out for dinner.

Bit of a busy day, huh?
