Paint issues - 4th gen

Hey guys! Having some issues with the paint on my 4th gen. Admittedly probably my own fault. Life gets busy and I don't wash and wax my T4R enough and throw in some fresh ocean marine layer and POOF! Problems... I'm not to oxidation state, but the paint sure is dry and full of swirls. Loosing the "wet look" quickly, now. Oh... and it's black! So that only makes it worse...

Any of you messed with the paint? Is it substantial enough to cut, polish, and re-wax or am I asking for problems? Am I best to just clay bar, use a swirl remover of some kind, then wax?

I'm definitely not a paint care guru, so any help/input/tips would be appreciated!

Thanks guys!

What year is it, does it sit outside always?

Call the guys at Autogeek (.net, I think). They are pros and carry only the best products. They may also have a forum full of detail geeks.

2007, and unfortunately it does sit out. Paying the price, that's for sure! :(

Maybe just a simple cleaner wax and a light polish of some kind for the swirls??

Ha, i think a good clay bar and a good wax would do you well. Try that first, i use all meguires products and my 06 looks brand new.

:hatsoff:

Just went and got a whole bunch of stuff I've been meaning to get for awhile anyway... Cleaner wax, clay bar kit, ultimate compound, and some good carnuba wax. All Meguiars products!

Gonna start with a good wash, let it dry and cool. Then start in on the cleaning...

I'll do a "before and after", if anyone is interested.
