Paint protection film question on a 2014

After looking close at my newly bought 2014 sr4. I can tell there was some type of clear film on the hood, from the front edge of the hood up toward the windshield about 10 inches, seem fairly thick. It is also on the fender. The lines are very clean and uniform, looks professional. I did a google and determined it is protection film.

Was this standard on one from the factory or is this aftermarket. Whats your opinion of the stuff. If it likes stuff Ive seen in the past, it will not age well.

What would it cost to have this done if it was an add on?

It's a clear paint protection package that was common for southeastern 4runners. I believe it was something that was added at the port. I forget the specific name of the package but I want to say it was around $600-700. I didn't want it on my wife's 2018 TRD pro but the dealer wasn't willing to delete that option.

i had an Xpel clearbra put on my 2015 and if I remember correctly I paid ~$700 to wrap the front bumper and the front 1/4 of the hood and fenders.

Ok, makes sense, this one came from eastern NC. I had no idea it cost that much. My 4runner was involved in a minor bump up before I bought it and the right front quarter panel was probably replaced and Im sure the bumper cover. That quarter panel does not have the protection on it. I check the bumper cover this afternoon but Im sure it does not have it.
