thanks! i was actully looking at your pics and saw the one where you had just the bumpers done and i like it alot and the was the worst looking part on my runner so i desided to do that. im very pleased with how it turned out. specially since i was out side at 2 in the morning doing it i was so tired but wanted it done. but thanks still deciding on if i want to do the flares or not.

I sported that look for a few weeks but the body cladding was always part of the plan. I do miss that look though. Wish I could have that look on the road and have the bed liner on the trails. My body was getting pretty beat on the trails and the bed liner is indestructible.

yea i bet it did help.. i might do it later but im doing this for now since i dont do any wheeling.and mine isnt bed liner just a flat black paint. ill probably do bed liner later this was just a quick test run i guess you could say. but i will do some trail rides when i get my lift though. im peiceing one together right now.

Honestly, I've never seen the appeal to painting body panels with Bed liner. I would say that SnowRambler's color combo looks good though. :girl:

No clear coat for me. I sprayed it on a tester piece and because the bedliner isn't smooth the clear doesn't sit right and it looks white. Like if your truck had dandrauff. And I used 3 coats. I've been out wheeling quite a few times and even purposely tried to scratch it and it still held up. Only spots I had trouble with are the rubber strips between the body and the flares, they seem to chip but not enough to be a problem. Hope this helps.

I saw a newer FJ with a bedlinered roof yesterday... should've taken a picture, but needless to say, it did not look good and I bet that truck gets wicked hot in the summer!

Not a limited and not door liner, but plastidip. I wanted a temporary to see if I liked it. Did it all the way around for $50 in paint.

Truck look great. Are the wheels plastidipped? I have mine off painting them now.

Thanks. Yes. All plastidip. That's fun stuff for a completely new look whenever you want.
i attempted to use it on my badges but didn't have much luck. I think it's too cold for it to bond properly.
I started the truck bed/bed liner coating job last night, along with the rim painting. So far i just have the rear passenger side complete, but i think it looks good.
Rims before. Really nasty and pitted. I couldn't sand the road tar off by hand, so i purchased a couple wire brush tools and went to town. That ended up getting most of the crap off.
After 4 coats of gloss black and 2 coats of clear coat gloss.
The original grey fenders which were cracking and peeling beside the new bed liner coated fenders. I taped it off where the rubber strip meets the paint on the truck, since the rubber was a little weathered.

what worked best for me was really light coats. First three coats were one over dustings. Let sit for 15 mins, then again. Did this about 5 times before I really did a slow, heavy coat. I basically just started at one corner of my truck and went all the way around, by the time I got back to the start, it had been 15-20 min. Had it about 5 months. Washed it last week and the only peeling i've had is under door trim where it was oversprayed and my foot hits when i get in and on the back bumper cap where my kids climb in and out.

I can tell you that plastidipping the fenders while still on the vehicle was a bad idea. No way to get the painters tap off without having the dip peel.
If I had removed them maybe would have worked. But since I don't want any of the clips to break I'll be keeping them on and will try again with an actual fender paint in flat black.
