Painted roof rack caps - color matched

It feels like it's been forever since I've been on here... wonder if some of the old fellas are still around.

It's been a couple years since my last mod (plastidipping the chrome), and am about to give it a refresh since it has slightly faded a bit, but overall has held up great.

Instead of plastidipping the roof caps, I decided to have a body shop paint them instead. I really like the black on grey look, so this turned out perfect for me.

Will- Looks great! Do you think this is something that could be done with a couple cans of duplicolor to match the factory paint and some clear coat? I was thinking of plastidipping my chrome rails but maybe matching it would look better.

Thanks, I'm sure you could do it yourself... Those caps pop right off. I think I've even seen a few pics a while back of people who color matched the logo and possibly the door handles themselves if I remember correctly.

I didn't want the entire rack painted since I like some of black on gray look.

I like it. I think color matched pieces look a lot better on the darker, more neutral colors. For example, I don't think that'd look good on white, red, etc. It's just like color matched steel bumpers. It's just something about those dark colors that makes color matching work.

I love the look of that. The clear signals in the mirror need some attention. They just stand out to me. Smoke those out and youll be set!

Thanks, it was $75 which was worth it for me to never have to worry about removing and plastidipping them again. Those were the most difficult part to plastip. Plus I like the color matched look better.

Never thought of that.. Thanks, I'll probably do that. I was thinking of very lightly tinting all the lights as well to reduce the bright chrome appearance and protect from future yellowing/fading so might as well do the turn signals while at it.
