Has anyone done this yet?? I've been trying to search for it on the site but can't find a truck thats done it yet. I've just made myself dizzy from looking through all the pictures. Im thinking of doing it but want to see how it looks. Preferably a Mag Gray with black SR5 wheels. Thanks!

Thanks guys! Here's some tips for you based on my experience with this project.:thumb3:
1- No need to mask off the tires at all. Place some big fender washers over the 6 bolt holes, and mask off the valve stem. Paint away. Carefully remove the washers with needle-nosed pliers and unmask the valve stem while the paint is wet, otherwise it will peel off. Leave the overspray on the tires until dry. It will peel off cleanly- Plastdip is amazing stuff!
2- I painted the back of my wheels first (otherwise you will see all that silver). Then painted the front. Once everything was dry, I went around the back with a sharp exacto knife. That way, if I had to repaint the front I could peel it all off, and the back would stay intact. I have already put this theory to the test once!
3- If you want the Toyota emblems to stay chrome, like I did mine, carefully dremel the melted studs that hold the emblems on and push it off. Paint the center caps and let them dry. When you push the emblem back on, there is just enough material there to "weld" the plastic tabs to the centercap with a soldering iron. Mine have been rock solid!
4- Unless you want to screw up your nicely painted wheels/caps- Leave the caps off until everything is torqued up on the 'Runner. Then snap the caps on.
Plastidip is very tough in some areas, and not so much in others. You can literally rub it off your wheel by hand (takes a fair amount of friction!), but it shrugs off chips and abuse.

I agree with Antman, go plasti dip! works great! I tested a hub cap on my TE and peeled it off afterwards, came off like a charm. no issues at all and it holds up very well.
for #3 i'm not sure how the sr5 is but the TE caps, the emblems didn't need dremel, it just took a small flat head and slowly nugged it out.

Thanks for the tips! Im going to go plastidip crazy tomorrow. Planning on doing all the chrome on my SR5 plus the rims. I was really leaning towards using spray-on bed liner but Ill give plastidip a shot since you can peel it off if it doesnt go well. Bed liner material, not so much. Thanks again!

I'm new to this forum, and new to 4Runners. I've been digging through the forum trying to find photos for some modification ideas. Does anyone have a picture of the stock 5th gen SR5 wheels with larger tires and a lift. I'm thinking about plastidip for mine, but I'll also be putting something larger for tires and a lift (still working on what kind).
